England pacer Stuart Broad debuted back in 2007 against Sri Lanka. Since his debut, Broad has bowled 5013.1 overs in his Test career. Therefore, Stuart Broad comes at number 5 on this list of bowlers with most overs bowled in test cricket. Till now Broad has played 150 tests and picked up 526 wickets with an average of 27.93.
#4. James Anderson | 6001.0 Overs
Another England speedster James Anderson has come at number 4 on this list of elite bowlers. James Anderson debuted in 2003 against Zimbabwe at his home venue Lord's. Since his debut, Anderson has bowled 6001.0 overs in his Test career. Meanwhile, Anderson has played 167 test matches, in which he has scalped 635 wickets with an average of 26.6.

#3. Shane Warne | 6784.1 Overs
Australia Test legend come leggie Shane Warne registered himself at number 3 on this list of bowlers with the most overs bowled in test cricket. Shane Warne's Test debut was back in 1992 against India at the SCG. Since then, Warne has played 145 tests till his retirement in 2007 and bowled 6784.1 overs during his test career. In those 145 tests, Warne has scalped 708 wickets for Australia (most by an Australian bowler) with an average of 25.42.

#2. Anil Kumble | 6808.2 Overs
India's all-time great bowler of the format Anil Kumble comes at second on this list. Kumble debuted back in the year 1990 against England at the Emirates Old Trafford. However, since then he bowled 6808.2 overs till his retirement in 2008. In his 19 years long Test career, Kumble has played 132 tests and scalped 619 wickets with an average of 29.65.

#1. Muttiah Muralitharan | 7339.5 Overs
Sri Lanka legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan tops the list. Muralitharan has bowled 7339.5 overs (the most among all the test bowlers) in his long 19 years of Test career. Murali's debut was back in 1992 against Australia at the Premadasa Stadium. Since his debut, Muralitharan has played 133 tests and scalped 800 wickets with an impressive average of 22.73.
