He achieved this feat on Thursday by scoring 48*(23) against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2025 match.

Earlier this season, Virat became the first-ever Indian batter to breach the 13,000-run mark in T20s during the encounter against Mumbai Indians. The former India captain became the fifth player overall to reach the landmark, behind Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard.

4. Sai Sudharsan | 9 Matches

Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan played IPL from 2022 till date. He scored 9 consecutive 25+ scores from IPL 2024-25.

Talking about his IPL career, Sudharsan made his debut in the cash-rich league with Gujarat Titans, when the franchise was first introduced in 2022. He just got five matches in that season where amassed 145 runs along with one fifty with a strike rate of 127.19.

However, Sai Sudharsan continued for GT in IPL 2023 where he scored 362 runs in eight matches at an average of 51.71 and a strike rate of 141.41 hitting three fifties. In a career spanning over a decade, Smith has racked up 2,485 runs from 103 IPL matches at an average of 34.51. His strike-rate in the league falls under 130. His tally includes a ton.

Smith has played for five franchises in the cash-rich league. He last played in the tournament in 2021, where he represented Delhi Capitals. Notably, Smith started his IPL journey with the now-defunct Pune Warriors India in 2012. He led the Rising Pune Supergiants to the IPL final in 2017, where they lost to Mumbai Indians.

2. Robin Uthappa | 10 Matches

Robin Uthappa played IPL from 2008 to 2022. He scored 10 consecutive 25+ scores in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders in their title-winning campaign in 2014. Uthappa was also the highest run-scorer of the season.

He amassed 660 runs in 16 matches at an impressive average of 44.00. Uthappa also notched up five fifties and one century, with a highest score of *83 (not out) in that season. His performances in the IPL always kept him in high demand amongst the different IPL franchises.

In Match 50 of IPL 2025 against Rajasthan Royals, SKY smashed an unbeaten 48 off 23 balls to keep his purple patch going strong. And in the process, he etched his name at the very top of that list. He has passed 25 in every single game he has played this season. It’s a level of consistency that even legends struggle to maintain in a league this intense.

SKY isn’t just breaking records for fun. He is now also leading the Orange Cap race in IPL 2025 with 467 runs in 11 games at a stunning strike rate of 172.96, including three fifties.

Dinesh Karthik, who represented a host of franchises in the IPL, follows Dhoni on this elite list. He owns 182 such dismissals.

In an IPL career that spanned 16 years, Karthik affected 174 dismissals with the wicket-keeping gloves. His tally includes 137 catches and 37 stumpings. In 2024, Karthik retired with 4,842 runs in the cash-rich league.

1. MS Dhoni | 200

In his 271st IPL appearance, Dhoni breached the 200-dismissal mark by successfully completing his counterpart Rishabh Pant’s catch in the final over as LSG packed their innings on 166/7. The seasoned wicketkeeper batter boasts 201 dismissals, consisting of 155 catches and 46 stumpings.

Dhoni is now the only player to have registered 200 fielding dismissals in the IPL. His path to this incredible milestone features 197 dismissals as a wicket-keeper. He owns 151 catches and 46 stumpings with the gloves.

Known for hitting six sixes in an over in the Delhi Premier League last year, Arya was bought by Punjab Kings in the mega auction. The young opener has now proved why he was rated so high during the auction.

Also, he holds the IPL record of scoring the first ton as an Indian cricketer in IPL history.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is the second-youngest centurion in IPL. On 10th May 2018, the former captain of Delhi Capitals scored an unbeatable knock of 128* in just 63 balls at the age of 20 years and 218 days.

The match was held in Feroz Shah Kotla Ground against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Even after performing so well and contributing a huge amount of runs for the team, Delhi lost the match.

Devdutt Padikkal

In the first phase of IPL hosted in India, only 3 cricketers scored a century, and Devdutt Padikkal was one of them. At the age of 20 years and 289 days, Devdutt scored 101* runs in just 52 balls against the Rajasthan Royals. Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, the 21-year lad showed exceptional performance on 22nd April 2021 and also won the match for his team.

He achieved this memorable knock while playing with the captain of the team, Virat Kohli and displayed such exhilarating batting. Devdutt Padikkal, along with Kohli clearly destroyed the Rajasthan Royals' bowling lineup and won the match.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

At 21 years and 123 days, Yashasvi Jaiswal became the Rajasthan Royals’ youngest centurion in IPL and also equalled the highest individual score by a Royals player.

Jaiswal’s whirlwind 124 off 62 balls against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in IPL 2023 is arguably his best knock. The southpaw’s innings consisted of 16 fours and eight sixes, a total of 112 runs out of 124 scored in boundaries. His 124 is the highest tally in a single inning by an uncapped player in the IPL to date.

Jaiswal’s one-man show sent the bowlers on a leather hunt, but the Royals could not overpower the Mumbai Indians that night as they lost the match by six wickets.

Sanju Samson

The present captain of Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson is the fourth-youngest centurion in IPL. In the 2017 IPL, he was playing for the Delhi Daredevils franchise. At the age of only 22 years and 151 days, he demolished the bowling lineup of Rising Pune Supergiant and scored 102 runs off 63 balls on 11 April 2017. 

Lastly, Delhi Daredevils defeated Rising Pune Supergiants hosted in MCA Cricket Ground, Pune.

1. Nicholas Pooran | 161.9

Nicholas Pooran is leading the list of players with the best strike rate in IPL - 161.9 with 1601 runs.

Pooran began his IPL career with Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) in 2019, where he played for three seasons. In 2022, Pooran joined Sunrisers Hyderabad. By 2023, he moved to the Lucknow Super Giants, quickly establishing himself as a crucial player. As of November 2024, he is one of the five players retained by the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the 2025 IPL mini-auction.

In the 2024 IPL season, Pooran delivered a standout performance, scoring 499 runs in 14 games with an impressive average of 62.38 and a striking rate of 178.21, which included three half-centuries.

2. Andre Russell | 162

Best Strike Rate in IPL (Minimum 1000 Runs)

The second name in this list is a very expected one who has actually redefined power-hitting in T20. Andre Russell who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders has an incredible strike rate of 162 with 1084 runs. Russell has many times won games for KKR on his own in very difficult situations.

After spending two seasons with the Delhi-based franchise, he was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders. He helped KKR win the title in his first season.

Overall in 150 matches, Suryakumar Yadav scored 3594 runs. In the IPL, Suryakumar Yadav's highest score is 103. Surya has a strike rate of 145.3 and an average of 32.1.

In 2023, he had his greatest IPL season, where he was appointed as the vice-captain of MI along with scoring 605 runs with a strike rate of 181.14 in 16 innings.

4. Shimron Hetmyer | 156

West Indies' middle-order batter Shimron Hetmyer is the fourth name on this list. The left-handed batter has struck 1153 runs with a deadly strike rate of 156.

Hetmyer played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2019. The Delhi Capitals (DC) acquired him in the 2020 season. He played there for two seasons before the Rajasthan Royals signed him in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He will continue to play for the Royals in the upcoming edition. He is the only overseas player to be retained amongst the six retentions of the Royals.

Overall Hetmyer has scored 1243 runs in 72 matches at an average of 31.07 and a strike rate of 153.07. He has smashed 76 boundaries and 82 sixes. His best season came in IPL 2022 when he helped the Rajasthan Royals reach the finals. He had scored 314 runs in 15 innings at an average of 44.85 and a strike rate of 153.92.

5. Dinesh Karthik | 155.9

Dinesh Karthik comes in at fifth place in this list scoring 1188 runs with an impressive strike rate of 155.9.

Dinesh Karthik’s IPL career has been full of highs and lows, with the veteran batting for around six teams as a middle-order batter. 

After the highs of the 2022 season which earned him a national call-up after three years and a return to India’s T20I squad for the ICC World T20 in 2022 after twelve long years, Dinesh Karthik’s form went down as the wicket-keeper batter has a poor season, managing only 140 runs in 13 matches.

Overall Karthik has scored 4842 runs in 257 matches at an average of 26.31 and a strike rate of 135.36. He has smashed 466 boundaries and 161 sixes.
