England batter Jonny Bairstow is in fine form in the longest format since the start of the year. Meanwhile, Bairstow has now crossed 1000 Test runs this year. He achieved the milestone in the first test against SA at Lord's, which sadly the home side lost by an innings and 12 runs.

Moreover, Jonny Baistrow becomes only the second cricketer after former Australia captain Michael Clarke, who smashed 1000+ test runs in a calendar year( batting at 5 or lower). Clarke has done this three times(2008,2009, & 2012) in his career while Jonny Bairstow has reached the mark for the second time after 2016 in his career.
Jonny Bairstow has now registered 1012 runs in 18 innings including 6 centuries and one half-century. He surpassed his teammate and former English captain Joe Root (941), who is in second place. Australia opener Usman Khawaja is in the third position with 888 runs in 13 innings.
