Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan surpassed Kiwi legend Tim Southee in terms of most wickets in men's T20Is. He gained that achievement by taking three wickets against Bangladesh.
The magic of Afghanistan's star spinner Rashid Khan was once again seen. In the third match of Asia Cup 2022, he took the wickets of three players while bowling brilliantly against Bangladesh. The 23-year-old spinner had been failing to pick up wickets for some time but returned to his old colors in this Group B match. He completely demolished Bangladesh's middle order. Rashid first made Mushfiqur Rahim his victim and then followed the vice-captain Afif Hossain and then Mahmudullah.
Along with the brilliant bowling, Rashid also made a special achievement in his name. He reached the second position in terms of taking most wickets in men's T20Is. In this case, he left New Zealand's star and experienced bowler Tim Southee behind. Rashid now has 115 wickets in 68 matches. While Southee has 114 wickets in 95 matches. However, Bangladesh's star all-rounder and captain Shakib Al-Hasan remains the highest wicket-taker. He has 122 wickets in 100 matches and there is no one around him at the moment.

After this Rashid Khan did not delay in dismissing Bangladesh's middle order. Bangladesh, however, posted a respectable 127 runs thanks to Mosaddek Hossain's unbeaten 48 off 31 balls. Chasing the target, Afghanistan's players were also not very special and they lost their three wickets at the score of 62. At one point of time, the team was looking in trouble but Ibrahim Zadran (42) and Najibullah Zadran (43) formed an unbroken partnership and were successful in turning the match in their court.
