Naseem Shah will miss the remainder of the Asia Cup 2023 following an injury sustained during the IND vs PAK match. Pakistan suffered a heavy defeat to India on Monday. Naseem Shah, who had been vital to Pakistan's bowling attack, had to leave the field during the 49th over of India's innings due to a shoulder injury. He wasn't able to come out to bat in Pakistan's unsuccessful chase, resulting in India's 228-run win.

Reports suggested that the decision to keep Naseem away from batting was a precautionary measure. Pakistan's team management is not taking any chances before the World Cup 2023 and have called up reserve bowlers. The PCB said that Naseem "continues to be monitored by the team's medical panel that is taking all necessary precautions"
Team doctor Sohail Saleem said, "Naseem is our asset and the team's medical panel will provide them the best possible care ahead of the all-important World Cup."
