New Zealand:
After losing the T20I series, the Blackcaps made it clear to steal the ODI trophy by collecting a victory in the first ODI at Auckland. Chasing a target of 307, Kane Williamson and Tom Latham put up a partnership of 200 to end India's hope. Kane remained unbeaten on 94* while Latham hammered 145* runs to put India backfoot.
Although, the bowling performance was ordinary from the Kiwi side, with Southee and Ferguson both taking three wickets each. Adam Milne leaked up runs while picking up one wicket and the rest bowler's remained wicketless. A victory by 7 wickets will surely boost the confidence of the home side to clinch the series with another win here at Seddon Park, Hamilton.

India:
Team India will be looking to bounce back while improving their bowling performance, which is the main concern for the side for months. Despite having a 300+ total on the board the bowlers failed to defend the score, losing by 7 wickets and 17 balls to spare. Dhawan, Gill, and Shreyas scored half-centuries while a late cameo of 37 off 16 from Sundar eventually helped India to reach 300 run mark.
However, coming to the bowling performance, the Men in Blue side failed to pick wickets in the middle as the Kiwis easily chased down the target. Only debutant Umran Malik took two wickets while Shardul took one. Another debutant Arshdeep Singh remains wicketless and also leaked many runs. India will be looking to bring Deepak Chahar into the side to give a boost to the bowling lineup.
