Maxwell is tying the knot with his Indian girlfriend Vini Raman on 27 March. Their Indian wedding invitation card has already led to a lot of buzz on various social media platforms.

He said, "Originally when I organized the dates with CA there was a two-week gap where I could potentially have it," Maxwell said after the third T20 against Sri Lanka in Canberra. So when I sorted that out I was pretty happy that I wasn't going to be missing in any series. Most Wickets in IPL history

We have all heard multiple times that T20 cricket is a batter’s game. However, one thing is to be noted that it is a bowler who turns the game for his team most times. The teams across the world have understood the fact that they need a good set of bowlers to win a tournament. This is true in the biggest T20 tournament IPL as well.

Over the years, it has been seen that teams who possess quality bowlers perform quite well, while those who struggle in this department generally lag behind.

A major portion of his success needs to be credited to the IPL, as the Saurashtra superstar built his international career by learning in the IPL under cricketing greats like Shane Warne, MS Dhoni, Stephen Fleming, and others.

Apart from missing the 2010 season, Ravindra Jadeja has played all the other seasons with him representing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since 2012. He has played 240 games taking 160 wickets with the ball with an average of 30.40 and an economy rate of 7.62.

His generational fielding skills have also shined, as the 36-year-old has taken 103 catches in the competition, making him ‘The Ultimate All-rounder’ as he is the only player to have 1000+ runs, 100+ wickets, and 100+ catches, fulfilling his 3-dimensional abilities to the fullest.

9. Jasprit Bumrah | 165* Wickets

Jasprit Bumrah, the game-changer of the game has put his name at no. 9 on this list of bowlers who scalped the most wickets in IPL history. Bumrah has been playing for Mumbai Indians since the 2013 season, in which the franchise bought him at a cheap price.

Bumrah has scalped 165 wickets in 133 games with an average of 22.51. Meanwhile, Bumrah has bowled at an economy rate of 7.30 in the franchise cricket league. This year he will be playing for MI again as the franchise retained him before the mega auction.

8. Lasith Malinga | 170 Wickets

Lasith Malinga, who is undoubtedly the greatest pacer in the IPL history has taken 170 wickets in 122 games he has played. Malinga averages 19.79 with the bowl and maintained an economy rate of 7.14 in the cash-rich league.

Though 108 of these wickets have come in death overs where batters try to score at a faster pace and often get out in the process, still his overall numbers are too good to be questioned.

Malinga started playing for Mumbai Indians in the 2009 season, and last appeared in the 2019 season. His final over in the 2019 final was enough to prove his greatness even at that stage of his career.

7. Amit Mishra | 174 Wickets

Most Wickets in IPL history

The next bowler on the list is Indian leggie Amit Mishra who has picked 174 wickets in 162 games. The seventh-highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL, Mishra, went unsold in the mega auction of IPL 2025.

Ashwin went on to play for Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, and returns to the CSK fold after having featured for Rajasthan Royals for the last three seasons.

The Indian off-spinner was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs. 9.75 crore at the IPL 2025 auction. Ashwin had burst onto the scene in 2009 with CSK under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. He represented Super Kings till 2015 and was part of two title-winning campaigns, in 2010 and 2011.

He has been a crucial member of the Kolkata-based franchise KKR, as the franchise won the league back in 2012, 2014, and 2024.

Narine has also played as an opener under Gambhir's captaincy. However, currently, he is with the KKR franchise as they retain the off-spinner before the IPL 2025 mega auction.

4. Bhuvneshwar Kumar | 181* Wickets

Most Wickets in IPL history

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, with 181 wickets is the fourth name in this list of players with the most wickets in IPL. Bhuvi has played in 176 matches in which he took those 181 wickets at an average of 27.23. However, he has bowled with an economy rate of 7.56 in the league.

3. Dwayne Bravo | 183 Wickets

Most Wickets in IPL history

Dwayne Bravo with 183 wickets is the third name on the list. He is the second pacer after Lasith Malinga on the list to take the most wickets in IPL.

Bravo had been a vital cog in Chennai’s bowling lineup, particularly in the death overs. With MS Dhoni being captain, Bravo’s potential has been used very cleverly for the team’s benefit.

The all-rounder has played 161 IPL games and averages 23.82 with the ball.

He played his last IPL match in the 2022 season for Chennai.

2. Piyush Chawla | 192 Wickets

Most Wickets in IPL history

Piyush Chawla, who was bought by Mumbai Indians for IPL 2021 in the mini-auction is the second-highest wicket-taker in the league history. He has picked 192 wickets in 192 matches with an average of 26.60 and an economy being 7.96.

Piyush Chawla has earlier featured for Chennai, Punjab, and Kolkata-based franchises in the cash-rich league.

England vs Australia ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Inglish and Aussie batters chased down biggest target of ICC ODI events | sportzpoint.com

Australia started their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign on a winning note as they chased down the highest successful chase in tournament history. Australia chased down England's 352-run target with 15 balls remaining in the match. Jos Inglish was the star of the show with his maiden ODI ton during the chase.

Ben Duckett dismantled the Australian bowling lineup with a recurrent breaking 165, the highest score by a better in Champions Trophy history. But, Australia ensured they made the highest successful chase in ICC Men's ODI events. Here's everything you need to know from the England vs Australia ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match.

Smith decided to bowl keeping the dew in mind

Steve Smith won the toss and decided to field first keeping the dew in mind. Ben Dwarshuis dismissed Phil Salt early in the second over. Despite a flying start to the innings, Dwarshuis was able to send back Jamie Smith for 15 in the sixth over as England found them at 43/2 after 5.2 overs.

But, then it was the partnership between Ben Duckett and Joe Root that took them to a record-breaking score. They first accumulated well to get their first fifty from 48 balls while Ben Duckett completed his fifty off 49 balls.

Root and Duckett build a solid partnership for England

Joe Root did his part by completing his fifty from 56 balls as they reached the 100-run mark for the third wicket in 94 balls. But, post his fifty, Duckett changed his gear instantly and his skill against the Aussie spinners was a masterclass from the southpaw opener.

But, after Root was trapped in front of the wicket by Adam Zampa, Ben Duckett lost support from the other end and England missed out on maybe 10 or 15 runs at the end.

Duckett's 3rd ODI ton gave England the momentum

Duckett went on to get his 100 off 95 balls, his 3rd ODI ton. Then he changed to fifth gear alongside captain Jos Buttler. Although Buttler was caught in the deep by Nathan Ellis off Glenn Maxwell, Duckett continued his slog and soon reached 150 off 134 balls.

He was finally dismissed by Marnus Labuschagne on 165 off 143 balls. Archer added a quick 21 from 10 balls to take England's total to 351/8 in the first inning.

Australia got off a flyer but lost wickets early

Just like England, Australia got a quick start but lost two wickets early. Travis Head was dismissed on 6 off 5 by Jofra Archer in the 4th over while Steven Smith was dismissed by Mark Wood for 5 in the next over. But, then, Marnus Labuschagne and Matthew Short stitched a 95-run partnership to give others a platform to chase down the total.

With both Labushcagne and Short finding the gaps easily, they reached the 100-run mark in the 15th over and kept themselves in the chase. Meantime, Short reached his fifty in 47 balls but Marnus was outfoxed by Adil Rashid on 47 off 45 balls in the 20th over.

Though it looked a bit tough for the Aussies, who had not won a game in the ICC Champions Trophy in 16 years, they had batters with immense talent in the middle order.

Carey and Inglis steadied the ship

Josh Inglis and Alex Carey put up a solid stand, Australia vs England, Men's Champions Trophy 2025, Lahore, February 22, 2025

Jos Inglis, born in England, always had the game to win games for Australia, but needed to prove that now. Meantime, they had their most in-form batter in Alex Carey and Glenn Maxwell to come as well.

Livingstone dismissed Short (63) with a sharp caught and bowled chance in the 23rd over and it was then the partnership between Inglis and Carey that took Australia near to home. For the 5th wicket, they put up 100 runs in just 78 balls while Inglis completed his fifty. Australia reached the 250-run mark in the 38th over and Carey also completed his fifty off 49 balls.

Maxwell and Inglis finished things off

However post Carey's (69) dismissal in the 42nd over, things could have gone either way but Glenn Maxwell made sure he made things easier for them. Inglis eased to his maiden ODI ton while Maxwell started hitting the ball powerplay from the other end.

In the end, it was a comfortable win for the Aussies as Inglis remained unbeaten on 120 from 86 balls while Maxwell was undefeated on 32 from 15 balls. All the English bowlers except for Adil Rashid went more than 6 runs an over and that made it hard for Jos Buttler to control the game.

Buttler accepted that the score was good from but the dew affected more than he had expected. "Both sides played well, credit to Australia. fantastic innings from Inglis. 350 is a pretty good score, but it was wet and the dew was a worry," Buttler said.

"The guys were outstanding. Matt Short played beautifully, Travis and I the only two to miss out," Australian captain Steve Smith said in the post-match presentation.

Pitch & Weather Report

The pitch of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has changed a lot. It was a solid batting pitch but black soil has been used and now it helps the slower bowlers. Batters will have to score runs in the powerplay because, with the progression of the match, the wicket will get slower and tricky for batting. The average 1st innings total in T20 internationals is 160 while the 2nd innings total is 140

The temperature in Ahmedabad on 22 May can go as high as 45 degrees Celsius and rain should not play any role in the match.

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals finished third in the points table with 17 points but they aren't in good form. They are coming after three straight losses and their last game was washed out due to rain. Jos Buttler has returned to England so Yashasvi Jaiswal will open the inning with Tom Kohler-Cadmore. He doesn't have any sort of IPL experience as Tom has played only one game in the tournament. Jaiswal is in poor form and he must step in a huge knockout game like this.

Sanju Samson has been the most crucial player for Rajasthan in the top order, scoring 504 runs in 13 innings. Riyan Parag is set to bat at no 4 and he has been brilliant for the side. He has already scored 531 runs for RR in 13 innings which speaks volumes. Dhruv Jurel has played some crucial cameos here and there but hasn't been consistent.

Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma are expected to feature as the leading pace bowlers with Avesh Khan bowling the death overs. Avesh has bowled some critical overs but Boult's performances in the recent few matches haven't been that good. The same problem lies with Sandeep too. But, the duo can cause some problems for RCB in Ahmedabad's pitch.

Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a sensational spell against CSK but his economy is the most concerning part. He has failed to show his pure qualities this season but can turn up in a huge game like this against his former franchise. Ashwin can also cause problems in Ahmedabad's pitch although scalping wickets has been the most challenging part for the ex-CSK spinner this season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB have won their last six games comfortably and are playing top-tier cricket right now. They qualified for the playoffs after delivering a complete team performance against Chennai Super Kings at home. Virat Kohli is in great form and is the Orange Cap holder with 708 runs. He is by far the best batsman of this season. Faf has been inconsistent but has played some really good knocks too including last match's half-century.

Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik played brilliant cameos in the last game and they can provide a very good finish. The team is looking quite confident and are the favourites in this game. Cameron Green and Patidar have contributed with some great innings in the last few matches including the partnership they made against CSK.

The issues in bowling have been resolved a lot lately. Mohammed Siraj who was struggling to bowl one decent over, is bowling quite confidently in the last couple of games. Bangalore don't have a good spin bowler in their squad to handle the middle overs. But, Maxwell is there and he has been very reliable with the bowl. He bowled the first over in the last game and in the first delivery, Maxwell got rid of CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Yash Dayal has bowled some sensational spells this season and he is the most important bowler for the Royals right now. His final over against CSK was one of the best overs of this IPL 2024 season. He has scalped 15 wickets until now and bowled some really good overs throughout the season. Swapnil Singh is also contributing here and there but Lockie Ferguson is the weak link. He hasn't bowled even a single decent spell this season. His economy of almost 11 is a huge concern.

Possible XIs

Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Faf du Plessis (C), Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror, Cameron Green, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Swapnil Singh, Karn Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal

Pitch & Weather Report

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is one of the most high-scoring venues in the Indian Premier League, with an average first-inning score of 180 so far. It's a solid batting pitch but some seam movement is expected during the powerplay in the first innings. Three out of five matches played here this season have been won by teams batting second. There will be dew in the second half which makes the venue more chasable.

The temperature will be around 25 degrees Celsius. Humidity of about 83 percent is expected but there is no chance of rain.

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals have faced each other in 30 matches. RCB have been the dominant side with 18 victories while Delhi have won only 11 games.

Team News

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB have registered five victories after featuring in twelve games but four of those came in the previous four games. Virat Kohli is in great form and providing his side with a good start from his end in almost every game. He played a brilliant inning of 92 in the previous game. Faf is not having an excellent season as he has been so inconsistent. The duo is expected to open the inning for RCB in the game against PBKS.

Glenn Maxwell didn't feature in the previous game. Patidar played a brilliant inning in the previous game but Will Jacks has failed to replicate his performance against GT. Dinesh Karthik has played lots of brilliant innings for RCB this season and has taken the responsibility to score runs consistently at lower down the order. Cameron Green also played an important inning in the previous game.

RCB only have two games left in their hands and the hopes for the playoffs are still there. The issues in bowling have been resolved a lot lately. Mohammed Siraj who was struggling to bowl one decent over, is bowling quite confidently in the last couple of games.

Bangalore don't have a good spin bowler in their squad to handle the middle overs. They let go of Chahal and haven't been able to replace him with someone else. Yash Dayal has bowled some sensational spells this season and he is the most important bowler for the Royals right now.

Siraj picked up three wickets in the previous game while Swapnil Singh, Karn Sharma, and Lockie Ferguson picked up two wickets each. RCB have to continue their winning streak if they want to keep their hopes for the playoffs.

Delhi Capitals

DC are coming into this huge game after winning their previous match against Rajasthan Royals. The consistency has been a problem for Delhi and it would be difficult for them when they meet Bangalore on Sunday. Prithvi Shaw didn't feature in the previous game but Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel both delivered as openers.

Fraser-McGurk has displayed his sensational hitting. The right-handed batter has already struck 4 half-centuries this season with his highest IPL score being 84 runs. The South African youngster, Tristan Stubbs is a vital batter in the DC unit. Stubbs has scored 318 runs in 12 games as a middle-order batter at an impressive strike rate of 188.17 so far this season.

Captain Rishabh Pant will miss the game as he is suspended and serve a one-match ban. Axar Patel is delivering some brilliant performances with the bat or bowl in every game.

Mukesh Kumar picked up two wickets in the previous game. The right-arm pacer bowls mainly in the death overs and has picked up wickets for his side consistently in almost every game despite conceding loads of runs. Kuldeep Yadav is having a brilliant season and bowled a perfect 4-over spell against the high-flying RR in the previous clash. Khaleel Ahmed has bowled good spells in the powerplay and will be there to bowl the important overs against RCB too.

Glenn Maxwell takes break in the middle of IPL 2024 over 'mental and physical fatigue'

Glenn Maxwell's performance in the matches played so far in IPL 2024 has not been good. He scored only 32 runs in 6 innings played this season, in which he was out on zero thrice.

Glenn Maxwell has decided to take an indefinite break from IPL 2024.

Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Glenn Maxwell has taken a break from IPL 2024 for some time. However, it is not clear when he will return. He has taken this decision to give himself mental and physical rest. Maxwell revealed the news during the press conference after Royal Challengers Banglore's bitter defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday night.

Maxwell's performance in the initial matches was not good

Maxwell's performance in the matches played so far in IPL 2024 has not been good. He scored only 32 runs in 6 innings played this season, in which he was out on zero thrice. However, he was in tremendous form before coming to IPL. He scored 552 runs in 17 T20 matches played from November last year till the start of IPL at an average of 42.46 and strike rate of 185.85. During this period he also scored two centuries.

Maxwell asked Faf du Plessis to try someone else

Due to poor performance , Maxwell had ruled himself out of the match played against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad on Monday. He told that he himself decided to withdraw from the match against SRH because he felt that he was not able to make a positive contribution. Maxwell said, "For me, personally, it was a pretty easy decision. I went to Faf and the coaches after the last game and said I felt it was probably time we tried someone else. I have been in this situation in the past where you can keep playing and get yourself deeper into a hole. I think now is actually a good time for me to give myself a bit of a mental and physical break, get my body right. 'I felt like I wasn't contributing in a positive way'

Maxwell said, "We have had a pretty big deficiency straight after the powerplay, which has been my area of strength over the last couple of seasons. I felt like I wasn't contributing in a positive way with the bat, and with the results and the position we find ourselves on the table, I think it's a good time to give someone else an opportunity to show their wares, and hopefully, someone can make that spot their own."
