Pakistan Cricket news breaks out, former batter Haroon Rasheed has been appointed as Pakistan's chief selector. Najam Sethi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), told reporters in Lahore on Monday that Haroon will lead the new selection committee but the remaining members would be decided later.

Haroon Rasheed was also named to the 14-member cricket management committee to run the Pakistan Cricket Board. On December 22, the patron-in-chief of the board, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif decided that.

Haroon Rasheed made his test debut for Pakistan in 1977 against Australia in Sydney. He has represented Pakistan in 23 test matches & has scored 1277 runs, During those matches, he made 3 centuries & 5 half-centuries. 6 years later against India in Hyderabad, he played his last test match for the national side.

Haroon made his ODI debut for Pakistan in 1977 against England in Sialkot. He has played 12 matches & in which he has scored 166 runs. 5 years later Rasheed took his retirement against Australia in Lahore.

Rasheed had previously served as Pakistan's chief selector between 2015 and 2016. He will take over from Shahid Afridi. He served as the interim chief selector after the Sethi administration removed Mohammad Wasim from the position soon after taking charge last month.

Haroon has now resigned from the management committee as the board doesn't want any conflict of interest as he is now the chief selector of PCB.
