Chennai Super Kings batsman Ambati Rayudu, who is currently playing for the Andhra team, is all set to play for the Baroda team in Ranji Trophy 2021-22 season. The Andhra Ranji team cricketer will join Baroda Cricket Association's (BCA) camp to be organized after June this year. However, then he will start playing for the team in the upcoming season. This is the second time that Ambati will be playing for Baroda.

"Ambati, a member of CSK in the Indian Premier League, had approached us and expressed his desire to play for Baroda. After discussion, the BCA's apex council agreed to rope him in for the Baroda team."

BCA CEO Shishir Hattangadi said

The presence of the thirty-six-year-old Ambati in the team is expected to help Baroda overcome its poor performance in the last Ranji season. However, they have already some experienced cricketers in the squad.

Baroda all-rounder Deepak Hooda quit the team last year after he was banned by the BCA on disciplinary grounds. Hooda had walked out of the team right ahead of a crucial T20 tournament last year after a verbal spat with Krunal Pandya.

An experienced player like Hardik was not available to play for Baroda in Ranji Trophy the last season. Meanwhile, Krunal too opted out after playing just one match.

In November last year, Krunal had resigned from the Baroda team's captaincy after a dismal performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.

"Ambati's inclusion will help the team get a balance": Ajit Lele, BCA secretary

"Baroda currently has very few senior players and Ambati's inclusion will help the team get a balance. We need an experienced player like him to mentor the players and also perform in the team."

said Ajit Lele, BCA secretary

A single social media activity has sent shockwaves through the cricketing world ahead of IPL 2026 auction. A recent 'hint' from Sanju Samson's manager has intensified the possibility of his transfer to Chennai Super Kings from Rajasthan Royals in the next season.

Fans are wondering whether this would come true and change the landscape for both the teams in the future, or is it just another false call.

There's been a mixed bag of positive and upsetting reactions in the past 24 hours, but the real question still stands: Will Sanju Samson join CSK for IPL 2026? Check out how Manager's hint fuels mega transfer rumours.

"Time to Move": Samson's recent viral Instagram post

On June 7, Sanju Samson posted a photo on Instagram that begin the rumors. The image featured him alongside his wife, crossing a prominent yellow line on the road. He captioned the post: "Time to MOVE..!!"

This visual cue, combined with the caption and the fact that a Tamil song ('Mun Andhi' from 7 Aum Arivu) was also part of the post, immediately sparked discussion. The comments section was quickly flooded with fans linking the "yellow" color and the "move" message to the Chennai Super Kings.

Shreevats Goswami from Royal Challengers Bangalore became the first player to win the Emerging Player of the Season award in IPL 2008 while Rohit Sharma won it in the 2009 edition playing for Deccan Chargers. Mustafizur Rahman is the only foreign player to claim the award so far, winning it in the 2016 season.

MI's Saurabh Tiwary won the award in 2010 while CSK's Iqbal Abdullah won it in 2011. Both players struggled after getting the award as they failed to replicate their heroics going ahead in their careers.

The other prominent names to win the award are Sanju Samson (2013), Axar Patel (2014), Shreyas Iyer (2015), Rishabh Pant (2018), Shubman Gill (2019) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (2021).
