All-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed becomes only the 5th Bengal player to score a hundred and pick a fifer in a single match of the Ranji Trophy. The Bengal all-rounder has achieved the milestone in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2022 semi-final game against Madhya Pradesh.

In the first innings of the game, Shahbaz slammed a hundred from a tough situation when Bengal was at 54/5. He stitched a century runs partnership with senior batter Manoj Tiwari(102). Moreover, it was Shahbaz's 1st first-class hundred in his career and that too comes in an important game for his team Bengal. He aggregated 116 runs off 209 balls including 12 fours during his innings.

Then coming to the third innings, Shahbaz took 5 wickets to restrict MP to 281. Now Bengal has to chase 350 in the 4th innings to qualify for the Finals of Ranji Trophy 2022. Shahbaz took the wickets of the following players including Rajat Patidar(79) - Akshat Raghuwanshi(4), Saransh Jain(11), and Puneet Datey(4), and Kumar Karthikeya(3). He ended with his personal bowling figures of 41-9-79-5.

Shahbaz Ahmed becomes the fifth player to achieve this incredible record after the following four legendary players of Bengal - SK Giridhari, Prakash Bhandari, Pranab Nandi, and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly.

Bengal needs 350 runs to chase in the fourth innings to qualify for the Finals of the Ranji Trophy 2022. However, in the chase, Bengal has already lost their opener Abhishek Raman(0) and Gharami(19). Bengal is currently on 56/2 in 14 overs and still needs 294 runs.
