RCB vs LSG: IPL 2023 Match Report
Virat & Faf built a brilliant partnership of 96 runs
Lucknow Super Giants won the toss & decided to bowl first. Virat & Faf gave a brilliant start once again. RCB crossed 50 runs mark in the sixth over with explosive batting from Virat Kohli. Faf was not taking the risks as he was depending on singles and doubles while Virat took the responsibility for the big shots. Virat Kohli completed his second half-century of the IPL 2023 campaign in just 35 deliveries. Virat & Faf made a 96 runs stand as Amit Mishra finally broke the partnership. He dismissed Virat after scoring 61 runs in 44 deliveries with 4 sixes & 4 fours.
Faf Du Plessis & Maxwell paired a 100-run stand & finished the inning in style
Faf du Plessis then showed his impact. He was waiting for the right moment to show up and after Kohli's fall, it was the right moment to step up. Virat's wicket brought Glenn Maxwell to the crease who couldn't contribute too much in the last game. It was also a good opportunity for him to construct an inning. He looked dangerous right from the start. Faf du Plessis also brought up his half-century in 35 deliveries, just like Kohli did. He also smashed a 115 mt. long six to Ravi Bishnoi. Maxwell also took charge from the other side and only dealt with boundaries.
Avesh Khan came to bowl the 19th over and Maxwell smashed him for consecutive sixes in the first two balls. With that, he also brought up his half-century, which took him just 24 balls to reach there. The pair also brought up a 100-run partnership for the second wicket in just 44 balls. Du Plessis joined the party in the fourth ball and hits the pacer for a boundary toward covers. 20 runs come off the over as RCB crossed 200 with one over to spare. Mark Wood dismissed Maxwell for 59 runs in 29 deliveries as RCB posted 212 runs with the losses of two wickets. Faf remained not out after scoring a brilliant 79 of 46 deliveries with 5 sixes & 5 fours.

RCB vs LSG:
Siraj & debutant Parnell gave a perfect start to RCB
Mohammed Siraj gave Royal Challengers Bangalore a perfect start by dismissing the dangerous man Kyle Mayers for a duck in the third delivery. Debutant Wayne Parnell removed Hooda from the crease & did the famous Ronaldo celebration. He also went on and dismissed Krunal Pandya for a duck. Lucknow lost their first three wickets under only 23 runs.
Marcus Stoinis made an entrance and changed the course of the match with constant bombarding over the opposition bowlers. He slammed a 25-ball half-century and the match somehow turned in favour of Lucknow. Karn Sharma brought RCB back live with the important dismissal of Stoinis after an explosive inning of 65 runs in 30 deliveries with 6 fours & 5 sixes. Siraj dismissed skipper Kl Rahul (18) who wasn't even felt like in the game.
Pooran changed the game with the fastest half-century of the season
Royal Challengers once again brought themselves back in the game with the two early wickets under six runs. Lucknow still needed 108 runs to win in 8.5 overs and they only had Pooran & impact player Badoni as the options. Pooran spared no one, as he continued to hit sixes right from the first delivery. He completed his half-century in just 15 deliveries and became the batsman with the fastest half-century in IPL 2023. Ayush Badoni joined the party with a couple of boundaries as Bangalore looked distraught once again. The successful opening bowlers Parnell & Siraj also got slaughtered by Pooran. He helped LSG reach 185 runs in the 16th over with the big hittings.
Siraj gave only 4 runs in his final and the 17th over of the match and also picked up the big and crucial wicket of Pooran after a fiery 62 runs of 19 deliveries with 4 fours and 7 sixes. Siraj ended as the most economical and inspirational bowler for Bangalore as he once again brought the team back to life.
A thriller of a last over from Harshal Patel but LSG managed to clinch the victory by 1 wicket
It seemed too late as Badoni was already set as he got enough time during Pooran's hammering. It hasn't been a good start for Harshal and the pressure clearly showed off as he gave away 11 runs too easily in the 18th over. Wayne Parnell dismissed Badoni with an unfortunate hit wicket for an important 30 runs knock but quite clearly he did his job. Badoni smashed a one-handed six but the bat hit the stumps. Lucknow Super Giants needed only 5 runs in the final over to win the RCB vs LSG game and Harshal Patel got the responsibility to defend those crucial runs.
Harshal Patel somehow managed to restrict Lucknow to the last delivery and also tried to dismiss Bishnoi on the non-striker end during the runup but it didn't work as they planned. Avesh Khan missed the last ball completely but finished the Karthik fumbled completely behind the wickets. Avesh Khan & Ravi Bishnoi successfully managed to win the match for LSG by only 1 wicket. Surely, one of the best matches of the season, if not the best after KKR's last over 29 runs chase in the last match.
