In the ongoing first Test against Sri Lanka, Saud Shakeel scored his maiden double-century in Test cricket at the Galle International Stadium. On Day 3 of the opening Test, Saud Shakeel wrote his name in the history books as he became the first-ever Pakistan cricketer to score a double century in Sri Lanka. He is only the second Pakistan batter, after Zaheer Abbas vs England in 1971, to score a double-century in the first away Test match. Courtesy of his inning, Pakistan piled up a huge total of 461 after Sri Lanka were restricted to 312 runs in their first inning.

Pakistan bundled out Sri Lanka before lunch on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test. For Sri Lanka, Dhananjaya de Silva smashed 122. It was his 10th Test century. Apart from him, Angelo Mathews also scored 64 runs. For Pakistan, Shaheen, Abrar Ahmed, and Naseem Shah were the picks among the bowlers as they took three wickets each.
Pakistan had a very poor start as half of the team went to the dressing room under 101 runs. Saud Shakeel & Agha Salman constructed a partnership of 177 runs to take Pakistan to a brilliant total. Agha scored 83 runs before Mendis dismissed while Saud went on and scored an amazing double century. He remained not out for 208 runs as Pakistan put up 461 runs on the scoreboard. Sri Lanka ended Day 3 on 14 for no loss after as they are now trailing by 135 runs.
