1st Inning

Assam won the toss and elected to bat first at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. However, the decision did not go that well for them as one of their openers Uma Chetry was sent to the dressing room Rumeli Dhar for just 4 runs.

After that, Bengal bowlers took the control of the game. Gayatri Gurung was caught by Mita Paul off Deepti Sharma when Assam was only 34 in 8.4 overs. Soon Monika Das was sent off by Gouher Sultana as her left-arm spin partner Saika Ishaque completed the catch.

Assam could not find any scope to score runs as the spin trio for Bengal was pinpoint accurate from the go. Saika Ishaque, Gouher Sultana and Mita Paul all had an economy of less than 4 in their overs. In fact, Mita Paul only gave away 3 runs in her 2 overs.

Eventually, Assam was restricted to 70 in their full quota of overs. Tithi Das was the pick of the bowlers with her bowling figure of 3-6-2. Meanwhile, Gouher, Saika, Mita, Deepti Sharma and Rumeli Dhar all took one wicket apiece.

2nd Inning

With Bengal's batting, it was always a tough job for the Assamese bowlers to restrict them. Mita Paul and Deepti Sharma opened the inning for Bengal. Both the openers completed a 50-run opening partnership as none of them faced any challenges from the Assamese bowling lineup. Monikha Das was good with her opening spell of 2-5-0.

Soon after completing their 50-run stand, Mita operated for 27 off 43. She was caught in front of the wickets by Mousumi Narah. With the team requiring only 4 runs to win, Deepti Sharma got out. Papori Gogoi was the bowler to dismiss the current India all-rounder for 35. After that, Dhara Gujjar and Richa Ghosh completed the chase for Bengal.

With this win, Bengal is now at the number 3 position on the points table of Elite Group -E with 8 points. Bengal will now face Shafali Verma's Haryana in their next game tomorrow. The game will start at 8.30 am.
