Shane Warne | 2008
Late legend Shane Warne was the first captain to grab the IPL title on its inaugural edition. Warne was the captain of the Rajasthan Royals side as they won their first and only IPL title that year.
Shane Warner captained in 55 matches, in which his team won on 30 occasions while lost in 24 games. Meanwhile, Warne maintained a winning percentage of 55.45 in those games.
Adam Gilchrist | 2009
The next skipper on this list is none other than former Aussies legend Adam Gilchrist. Gilchrist was become the second captain to win the IPL title in the year 2009 for Deccan Chargers.
However, in 74 games, in which he captained the two sides(DC and KXIP) ha managed to win in 34 games while lost in 39 games. Skipper Adam Gilchrist has maintained a winning percentage of 47.29 in the IPL.

MS Dhoni | 2010, 2011, 2018, & 2021
One of the most successful captains in the history of IPL, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has claimed the title for a record four times. Under Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings has won the IPL titles in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021.
Meanwhile, in 204 games, Mahi has managed to gift a win to his team in 121 games while suffering defeat in 82 games. MS Dhoni has also captained Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016 & 2017 when CSK got banned for spot-fixing scandal. However, Dhoni has maintained a winning percentage of 59.60 in those 204 games he featured as captain.

Gautam Gambhir | 2012 & 2014
The next captain on this list is former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir, who won the title for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 & 2014. However, initially, he was playing for DD in IPL before joining KKR as their skipper in 2011.
In 129 games, in which Gauti captained the two sides (DD and KKR) has managed to snatch a win in 71 wins while facing defeat in 57 games. Meanwhile, Gambhir has recorded a winning percentage of 55.42 in the IPL games.
Rohit Sharma | 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 & 2020
Now, comes the most successful captain of the cash-rich league IPL. Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has won the title for a record five times since he started his captaincy journey in 2013. Rohit joined the Mumbai franchise in 2011 while making the captain of the side in the year 2013. From then to date he has been a phenomenal captain of the side having won the title in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 & 2020.
In 129 games as captain, Rohit Sharma has claimed victory in 75 games while suffering a loss in 50 games. Moreover, Hitman has maintained a winning percentage of 59.68 in those 129 games.

David Warner | 2016
The sixth and last captain on this list is another Aussie player, David Warner who won the title in 2016 for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Under Warner, SRH reached the finals in 2016 and defeated RCB to grab the IPL title. David has also captained the Delhi Daredevils side before joining the Sunrisers.
Meanwhile, as captain in 69 games, Warner managed to win in 35 matches while suffering a loss in 32 matches. Warner maintained a good winning percentage of 52.17 in those 69 games.
Now the question is will we see any new name on this list this year? or else one of Rohit and Dhoni will lift the trophy again. However, cricket's biggest festival is set to start from March 26 onwards.
