Sourav Ganguly is set to end his innings with the BCCI. According to reports, Ganguly will not contest in the BCCI elections on October 18th. Ganguly is being tipped as India's representative for the International Cricket Council Chairman post. It is being reported by various publications that Roger Binny is a solid favorite to take over as the next BCCI President.

According to a report by leading Hindi news daily Dainik Jagran, a meeting of top BCCI officials took place on Thursday. And it was decided among the officials that Ganguly will not contest the elections.
The meeting according to the report was attended by Ganguly himself along with Jay Shah, Vice President Rajiv Shukla, Treasurer Arun Dhumaml & former BCCI President N. Srinivasan. The report claims Jay Shah is likely to re-contest for BCCI Secretary's post.
With the October 12 deadline looming large, the state associations have started putting forward their representatives to the BCCI AGM. The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) have surprisingly named Roger Binny as their representative for the upcoming elections replacing Santosh Menon. Meanwhile, Avishek Dalmiya is a notable omission from the electoral rolls.
35 of 38 state units have already nominated their representatives for the BCCI Elections
As per a Cricbuzz report, 35 of the 38 state units have nominated their representatives ahead of the BCCI Elections later this month. Railways, Services, and Universities have made a request for more time with the electoral officer. As previously noted, the nominations can be filed on October 11 and 12.
The scrutiny of the same is on October 13 and the withdrawal date is October 14. The elections meanwhile are set for October 18, the same day as the BCCI AGM.
Among the 35 names listed, Roger Binny is the topmost surprise who replaces Santosh Menon. The World Cup-winning all-rounder is the president of the KSCA and rumors suggest that he might land one of the available positions in the BCCI Office.

Meanwhile, Avishek Dalmiya is not a part of the Electoral rolls. It is clear that the son of former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya will not be part of the next BCCI dispensation, with current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly becoming the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) representative to the AGM.
Jay Shah is the representative from Gujarat while Arun Singh Dhumal has been nominated by Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA). Ashish Shelar, MCA's nominee was initially thought to be in the race for a position in the BCCI. However, he seems to have chosen the MCA and will take up a position with Mumbai Cricket.
The BCCI elections will be held for five office-bearer roles alongside three elective posts. The positions of president, vice president, secretary, joint secretary, and treasurer are up for grabs. Effectively among 35 representatives named in the rolls, eight can get elected to various positions.
