T20 World Cup 2021: Saifuddin injured and out of the world cup, Bangladesh looks concerned

Saifuddin picked up five wickets across Bangladesh's opening four games of the T20 World Cup 2021, but will play no further part in the Tigers' campaign after picking up a back injury.

Bangladesh has officially replaced the injured Mohammad Saifuddin with Rubel Hossain in their squad for the remainder of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021. However, Bangladesh has been forced into the personnel change in their squad for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021. As per reports, the ICC Event Technical Committee has confirmed.

What ICC said in their press release ?

"The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 has approved Rubel Hossain as a replacement for Mohammad Saifuddin in the Bangladesh squad,"

Saifuddin played all the four games that Bangladesh has played in the WC so far. Also performs well in the match against Oman.

The all-rounder scored 5* and 19* respectively in the two innings he has batted in the campaign. Moreover, the bowler also picked up 5 wickets. He played a crucial part in the game against Oman where he picked up one wicket giving away only 16 runs from his 4 overs.

Rubel Hossain comes as replacement for the remainder of the T20 World Cup 2021 :

Rubel Hossain has played 159 international matches while he picked 28 wickets in 28 T20Is. Rubel was a reserve as per the allowance for teams to travel with extra players in view of Covid-19 quarantine requirements.

The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad.

Bangladesh will play their next game against England on Wednesday. This will be their second game in the Super 12 group stages.
