Team India secured their Semi-Final spot by beating Ireland. India will face the Defending Champions Australia in the Semi-Final. Australia is the most successful side of the Women's T20 World Cup with 5 titles to their name. It will an interesting battle to witness between the "Women in Blue and the Aussies." India has played the Semi-Final stage 4 times before in the tournament but they have succeeded only once to get to the Final. In 2020 India lost to the mighty Aussies in the Final. Here are Team India's results in every Women's T20 World Cup.

Team India's Result in every Women's T20 World Cup:

2009 | Semi-Final

India reached the Semi-Final in the 2009 T20 World Cup which was held in England. Jhulan Goswami was the skipper of the "Women in Blue" side. India faced New Zealand in the Semi-Final at Nottingham. New Zealand scored 145 runs by batting first. Skipper Aimee Watkins scored 89 runs in the match. In reply, India was only able to score 93 runs and lost the Semi-Final. England was crowned the champion of the inaugural T20 World Cup.

2010 | Semi-Final

India once again reached the Semi-Final in 2010. Jhulan Goswami was once again led by Jhulan Goswami to West Indies. India faced Australia in the Semi-Final at Beausejour Stadium. India batted first and was only able to score 119 runs. Punam Raut was the top scorer for India scoring 44 runs. Skipper Alex Blackwell led her team to the Final by scoring 61 runs. India was once again eliminated from the Semi-Final. Australia was crowned Champion of the second T20 World Cup.

2012-2024-2016 | Round 1

Mithali Raj led India to the 2012 T20 World Cup which was held in Sri Lanka. India got eliminated from the Group Stages. They lost all 3 matches.

India once again got eliminated from the Group Stages by finishing third in their group. They won only two matches.

India got eliminated for the third straight time from the Group Stages by finishing 4th in their group. They won only 1 match out of their 4 matches.

2018 | Semi-Final

Harmanpreet Kaur led India to the 2018 West Indies Women's T20 World Cup. India reached Semi-Final for the third time. "The Women in Blue" faced England in the Semi-Final at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. India batted first and was only able to score 112 runs. Heather Knight claimed 3 wickets and she was the most effective player against the Indian side. Amy Jones (53) & Nat Sciver-Brunt's (52) partnership helped England to reach the Final. Australia was crowned Champion for the 4th time in T20 World Cup.

2020 | Runners-Up

Australia hosted the 2020 T20 World Cup. India faced Australia in the Final at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Australia batted first and Alyssa Healy (75) & Beth Mooney (78) secured their 5th title with their brilliant partnership. India was only able to score 99 runs in reply to the target of 185. Australia completed the match, winning by 85 runs, and claimed their 5th Women's T20 World Cup Title.

2023 | Semi-Final

South Africa hosted the 2023 T20 World Cup. India faced the mighty Aussies in the Semi-Final at Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town. Australia batted first and put up a total of 172 runs. Beth Mooney's half-century and Ash Gardner's stormy innings of 31 gave the stage to the team and skipper Meg Lanning's(49*) finishing touch helped to give a target of 173 to the Women in Blue side. India lost early wickets but skipper Harmanpreet Kaur(52) and Jemimah Rodrigues(43) turned the match quite in fashion. Due to an unlucky run out of the skipper Kaur, the match got slipped away from the Indian side and Australia reached another final winning by only 5 runs.
