The South Australia Health said it would not comment on any individual cases. However, the authorities have not confirmed which media crew the broadcaster was a part of.

The 'ABC Grandstand' team was told they could not broadcast from the ground until they receive clearance from SA Health and oval management. But will continue to broadcast today's play remotely.

The Ashes: What the stadium management authority stated

"We have been made aware of a second member of the visiting media. He has returned a positive COVID result as a part of the scheduled day six testing. This individual was working in the media center in the western stand. He has not attended the ground today and neither have his close contacts,"

the Stadium management authority stated

"I had a test this morning as part of the travel arrangements and when we got back we got told to stay where we are ... not to go to Adelaide Oval until we get clearance from SA Health and Adelaide Oval," he said.

"The radio and TV boxes all run inline alongside each other. Then there's the written press down one of the far ends of it. You do communicate with people when you walk out of the broadcast box, people are wearing masks inside the ground. They're wearing masks in that area," he added.

"There is definitely interaction with other members of the press. That's why, I think, this may take a little while to sort out who's been in contact with who," he said.

Mark Wood's Pace Can Play Big Role For Potential England Turnaround

Mark Wood's pace was up and above everyone in the third Ashes test which helped England bounce back in the series.

Mark Wood's Pace Can Play Big Role For Potential England Turnaround

Playing a starring role in England's third Ashes Test victory over old rivals Australia, seamer Mark Wood has shown what impact he can still make at the highest level.

After what has been a frustrating spell out on the sidelines, Wood has battled through various injuries and will be hoping to play an influential role for the remainder of what has so far been a thrilling series.

Wood Looking To Put Injury Woes Behind Him

It has been a tough year for Wood on the injury front, as hip and elbow injuries meant the 33-year-old spent a frustrating spell away from the field. England, who are 4/1 in the cricket odds to win the Ashes this summer, were delighted to have Wood back for the third Test at Headingley. Missing Wood's raw pace during defeats at both Edgbaston and Lord's, Wood gave the Australian batting lineup plenty to think about over their two innings in Leeds.

After the injury problems Wood has had, it will be up to head coach Brendon McCullum and skipper Ben Stokes to try and manage the bowler's workload for the remainder of the summer. Fast bowling takes its toll on the body and approaching his mid-30s, it will be a fine balance for the England management team to get the most out of Wood while also trying to avoid any further injury setbacks.

Wood Brings Pace To The Table

While the likes of James Anderson and Stuart Broad were doing much of the heavy work in the opening two Tests in Birmingham and London, Wood was a breath of fresh air at Headingley. Some of the Australian batters were able to settle into big innings in the matches at Edgbaston and Lord's, but Wood was able to bring something different to the table in Leeds. Bowling consistently over 90mph, the Aussies were being battered with both short and full deliveries at a tremendous pace. For a player who was not sure how much Ashes cricket he would play this summer, Wood's pace would seemingly make him indispensable for the remainder of the series.

Wood was named player of the match for his efforts at Headingley, as he claimed seven wickets over the course of the third Test. Hardly an unknown entity for the Australian order, Wood's pace seemed to catch the tourists off guard and they will be hoping to be better prepared for the remainder of the series. Putting plans in place to try and cope with Wood's speed will be one thing but executing will be another entirely. While also being able to provide runs at the tail of England's batting order, Wood can play an influential role over the final two Tests in what has been a thrilling 2023 Ashes series.

England have not tasted Ashes success since back in 2015 but Wood could play an important role in trying to bring the urn back to English soil after a lengthy stay Down Under.

Australia has a perfect bowling attack for English conditions. Pat Cummins, Scott Boland, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Cameron Green, and Nathan Lyon can get through any batting lineup. Also, batters like Usman Khawaja, David Warner, Travis Head, Steve Smith, and Marnus Labuschagne can stick around and score heaps of runs.

  • Pat Cummins
  • Steve Smith
  • Josh Hazlewood
  • Mitchell Starc
  • Marnus Labuschagne

Recent History of Ashes

Australia holds the Urn, winning the last Ashes in 2021-22. England last won Ashes in 2015 at home; this time, they have a great chance to repeat and better that performance. The hosts can use the home bowling conditions to expose the slightly vulnerable Australian batting.

Our Prediction

Ashes 2023 will take place in England, and the form that the Ben Stokes-led team is in, they will have a better chance of winning Ashes 2023. Aussie bowlers will need to step up to stop the rampant England batting.

The home side has an excellent all-round team, especially for the home conditions, and if they perform anywhere close to their potential, they will win Ashes 2023.

The first-ever multi-match Test series was played in 1882-83, with England claiming a 2-1 win. The history books show that Joey Palmer was the first bowler with the most wickets in an Ashes series. He bagged 17 wickets at an economy of 2.11.

Most wickets in an Ashes series (Top Five):

Jim Laker: 46 wickets in the 1956 Ashes

Jim Laker is one of the greatest bowlers ever to have played Cricket. He was the wrecker-in-chief in the first Test at Old Trafford in 1956 where he bagged 19 Australian wickets for 90 runs. With figures of 9 for 37 in the first innings and 10 for 53 in the second, the legendary English bowler also bettered the record for best figures in a first-class match previously held by Harold Arkwright (18/96). Jim Laker was also the first bowler to scalp 10 in a single Test inning, a feat matched later by India's Anil Kumble in 1999.

Terry Alderman: 42 wickets in the 1981 Ashes

Among the many bowlers that came after Jim Laker, Terry Alderman was the only player who came close to break the English legend's record for most wickets in an Ashes series, not once but twice. Alderman had a brilliant debut in Test cricket, as he bagged nine wickets in the first Ashes Test at Nottingham in 1981. He finished with 42 wickets in that series, which is the best tally in an Ashes series after Laker's 46. The performance saw him break Rodney Hogg's record for most wickets in an Ashes series by an Aussie bowler (41).

Rodney Hogg: 41 wickets in the 1978-79 Ashes

Former Australian pacer Rodney Hogg is regarded as one of the wonder bowlers in Ashes history. He failed to make a sizeable impact in his six-year-long Test career beyond the series against England.

Hogg announced himself with seven wickets in the first Test. In the second and third Tests of the 1978-79 Ashes, Hogg took 10 wickets each. Hogg finished with 41 wickets at the end of the series and became the Australian bowler with maximum wickets in a single Ashes until Terry Alderman broke his record in 1981.

Terry Alderman: 41 wickets in the 1989 Ashes

after taking 42 wickets in 1981, Terry Alderman returned in another dream series where he bagged 41 wickets. He missed out on becoming the bowler with the most wickets in a single Ashes by only 6 wickets. 8 years ago, he came close and picked 42, and this time 41. he scalped 19 wickets across the first two Tests. The Perth-born pacer went on to claim another 22 scalps in the next three tests.

Shane Warne: 40 wickets in the 2005 Ashes

Shane Warne is one of the greatest spinners to ever play cricket. He has gone down in history as England's great tormentor with spin in modern Ashes history. Warne holds the record for most wickets in the Ashes (195) and is one of the key players who helped Australia hold onto their legacy for almost two decades.

In the 2005 Ashes, the legendary Australian spinner scalped six in both innings of the fifth and final Test at the Oval, but his efforts went in vain as England won the Ashes for the first time since 1986-87. Shane Warne bagged 40 wickets in 2005 against England and he is still the last bowler to record 40 wickets or more in a single Ashes.
