"The Dream is a movie that will resonate with every budding cricketer in Bengal:" Diptolok Chatterjee

Cricket is a religion in India. And Kolkata being the sports lover city, it is no different. If you roam around maidans of Kolkata every morning, you will see thousands of kids running towards their coaching camp with a big kit bag on their back. This kit bags not only hold their bats and pads, rather hold the dreams they have. The dream of playing for Bengal, and then playing for India. However, only few gets to fulfil their dream and others just has to follow other strings of life. But, it is the zeal to follow your dream till is what make the future stars of Indian cricket different. New upcoming Bengali movie "The Dream" is going to inspire you to just to hold on to that dream even when the odds are against you.

The movie is directed by Rajkumar Swain and Bappaditya Nandi with Diptolok Chatterjee, Kuntal Ghosal, Nisha Poddar, Koushik Basu, Azahr, and Ankita as the main characters of the movie.

"The story revolves around a middle class boy named Anshuman who is a very good cricketer but cannot continue his dream of playing for Bengal as because his father never wanted him to be a cricketer rather he want him to complete his MBA from a reputed university," said Diptolok Chatterjee, the lead character of the movie in an exclusive interview with Sportz Point.

"The story is inspired from the thousand of cricketers ,who sees a dream for playing for India or for their respected states but cannot fulfill the dream because of some uncertain reasons," he added further.

Diptolok who is also a cricketer, gave the audition for the role just to try something new in the lockdown. And after going through so much battels in his cricketing life, the story of the movie got attached with him immediately. Those who don't know, few years back Diptolok's "dream" of paying cricket was nearly over due to an accident that broke his leg. But his own journey of being back on the filed holding the bat is as inspiring as the story of the movie. However, the story does not relate to his personal life.

"No, no, the story is not on my life. Yes, I had some tough years as well as a cricketer and I fought my way out as well. I think this story is of every Bengali cricketer."

"Everyone has their own fight but the ultimate goal is the same for every budding cricketer. The zeal, the passion, dedication and the determination is same for all of us. Just that, we fight differently. That is why I feel The Dream is a movie that will resonate with every budding cricketer in Bengal," Diptolok Chatterjee answered when he was asked if his character "Anik" is inspired from his personal life.

"The movie shows us how to fight for something till the end ,till you achieve the goal. No matter what comes in your way .You have to work hard, Stay Focus and give all you have to make that dream come true. In one word Don't Just Dream ,Work Hard to Achieve," said Rajkumar Swain, one of the directors of the movie.

The release date of the movie has not been announced yet. However, as per our sources, the movie might be released in the next month.
