IPL 2016 will always be a memorable year for Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, and the fans and supporters of the franchise. The former captain emerged to be the leading run-scorer of IPL in that season after smashing 973 runs. Till today, he is the highest run-scorer in this T20 league. Centuries are common in ODI and Test cricket but it becomes difficult to score one in the T20. The innings of 120 balls make it difficult for the batters to hit centuries. But as usual Virat Kohli is known for achieving the unachievable. In only 16 matches, he smashed 4 centuries and become the only cricketer in history to score these many centuries in one season. Kohli is a part of IPL since 2008 and interestingly 2016 was the first year when he scored a century. Keeping in mind the past Orange cap holders, the record of 973 runs seems a bit impossible to break at this moment

18 October 2020 was a day of a double-header in IPL 2020. Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad was the first match, followed by Mumbai Indians vs Kings XI Punjab. Interestingly, the results of both the matches were decided by super overs. In the match no. 35, KKR vs SRH, SRH had to chase 164-runs. The team required 18 runs in the last over and Warner was standing to face the over of Andre Russell. However, the match turned to a super over to decide the winner. Lockie Ferguson of KKR came to bowl and dismissed Warner and Abdul Samad with only 2 runs on the scoreboard. Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik of KKR came to chase the -run target and achieved it quite easily.

The match no. 36, MI vs KXIP started off with MI scoring 176 runs. Chasing the target, KXIP managed to score 176 runs at a loss of 6 wickets in 120 balls. This led to a super over where Jasprit Bumrah came to ball and dismissed Nicholas Pooran and KL Rahul and gave 5 runs. In the over of KXIP bowling, Mohammed Shami did not allow MI to exceed 5 runs and MI failed to chase to 6-run target. This led to a super over yet again. Chris Jordan of KXIP bowled the second super over where MI scored 11-1. Chris Agarwal and Mayank Agarwal easily changed the target with a six by Gaye in the first ball itself. Mayank followed it with successive fours and won the nail-biting match.

Adam Gilchrist is the only cricketer to bowl just one ball and scalp a wicket on the same. In one match of IPL 201, Mumbai Indians were playing against Kings XI Punjab in Punjab. Coming to bat first, KXIP made 183-8 in 20 overs. During KXIP bowling, Adam Gilchrist came to bowl the last over of the match and it was his first time bowling in IPL history. Harbhajan Singh and Lasith Malinga were batting at the moment. Harbhajan Singh was on the strike and he wanted to throw a shot. Unfortunately, that did not happen and the ball went right into Gurkeerat Singh's hand. This is how he took his first wicket in his first ball in IPL and celebrated it while dancing in Gangnam style. Punjab won the match by 50 runs.

These records seem interesting enough and might remain unbreakable IPL records in the coming years too. What do you think about it?
