Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer and Shivam Dube could not do that much as well. Shardul Thakur scored a fifty and a ton in first and second innings respectively but that was not enough for Mumbai to get the win.
With this win, now it would be tough for the defending champions Mumbai to reach the knockouts of Ranji Trophy 2024-25.

Soon, Sarfraz Khan, who was dropped from the test squad, completed his fifty in 84 balls as well. When both batters were looking to get to the hundred mark first, Sarfraz was caught down the leg side on 92 off 119 balls and missed his ton.
