Wisden has announced its Top 5 cricketers of the year 2022. The selected players are Jasprit Bumrah, Devon Conway, Rohit Sharma, Ollie Robinson and Dane van Niekerk. Wisden awards cricketers for their performance throughout the year to include them in Wisden Almanack.

The former England captain Joe Root was named the Leading Cricketer in the World. Meanwhile, South Africa's Lizelle Lee was named Leading Woman Cricketer in the World. Along with them, Mohammad Rizwan is named Leading T20 Cricketer in the World for 2022.
Jasprit Bumrah
Bumrah's excellent run for India in the England tour helped him to be on the list of Wisden Top 5 cricketers of the year 2022. Moreover, his performance in the Lords' test with both bat and ball was outstanding. His decisive spell at the Oval helped India gain the lead of 2-1 in the series too.
Devon Conway
Devon Conway was a star in just his first series for the Kiwis. He helped the Blackcaps win their first test series in 22 years. Conway was the first player to hit a double hundred on his Test debut in England. Moreover, he followed up with a series-defining 80 at Edgbaston.
Rohit Sharma
Rohit, the newly made Indian captain was outstanding at the top of the order for India. He scored 368 runs in four Tests at an average of 52.5. Ollie Robinson
Ollie Robinson had some controversies off the field last year but his bowling has as accurate as it can be. Robinson was the pick of the bowler for England in the English summer. He took 28 wickets at an average of 19.60 and was England's leading wicket-taker that summer.
Van Niekerk
Van Niekerk was the most valuable player in The Hundred Tournament. She led Oval Invincibles to the victory in the Women's competition. She was the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 259 runs at a 43 average. Moreover, she also took 8 wickets in the tournament.
