BCCI has announced squads for the upcoming Women's T20 Challenge on Monday. Three teams will be led by Deepti Sharma, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur. Kaur will lead the Supernovas. Meanwhile, Smriti and Deepti will lead the Trailblazers and Velocity respectively. Deepti has replaced Mithali Raj as the captain of the Velocity. The tournament will be played from 23rd May to 28th May. Pune's MCA stadium will host the Women's T20 Challenge 2022.
"The best of the Indian Women's Cricket will combine with some of the leading stars from South Africa, England, West Indies and Australia. A total of twelve international players will compete in this year's Women's T20 Challenge," the press release by BCCI stated.

The tournament final will be played on 28th May and every team will play one match against each other. BCCI has already announced that Women's IPL will kick off in 2023. The existing teams of IPL has been requested if they want to create their women's team as well.
