This is the first edition of the Women's U19 T20 World Cup 2023 and India has created history by winning it. Batting first, the entire England team was reduced to 68 runs. In response, India achieved the target by losing three wickets in 14 overs. India's dominance has dominated not only in this match but in the entire tournament. India polled in Group D along with South Africa, UAE, and Scotland. In their first match of the group stage, Team India defeated South Africa by seven wickets. After this, India defeated UAE by 122 runs and Scotland by a huge margin of 83 runs.

Opting to bowl first, the Shafali Verma-led side bowled England out for 68. Titas Sadhu, Archana Devi, and Parshavi Chopra bagged 2 wickets each. While Mannat Kashyap, Shafali Verma, and Mannat Kashyap scalped a wicket each. Apart from their clinical bowling display, the team was superb on the field overall, affecting a run out as well as taking a few splendid catches with the wicketkeeper also getting to effect a stumping. In response, despite losing captain Shafali and leading run-scorer Shweta Sehrawat early, the Women in Blue reached their target with 36 balls to spare.

Under the leadership of Shafali Verma, India played a total of seven matches in this tournament and lost only one match against Australia. Out of the six matches India won by seven or more wickets in four matches. At the same time, India won two matches by 80 or more runs. That is, most of the matches for India have been one-sided.
