EPL Match Preview: Chelsea vs Everton
Chelsea:
After a disappointing 3-3 draw with Zenit at their final match of the UCL Group Stages. Chelsea invited Leeds United over to Stamford Bridge. However, Leeds took the lead with Raphinha's early penalty leaving The Blues scrambled, but Mount found back one for Chelsea just before the first half. In the 2nd half, Chelsea took the lead with a clean penalty from Jorginho. Similarly, Leeds again deadlocked it at 2-2 after the equalizer from Gelhardt, but it was again Jorginho who saved Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea with his perfect penalty at the dying minutes of the match. The Blues are sitting at third with a point behind Klopp's Liverpool and 4 points off the current leader's Manchester City. A win today will push them into 2nd place above Liverpool.
Everton:
The Toffees found some form after they beat Arsenal by narrow 2-1. But Rafa Benitez's side eventually failed to cross the finish line in their clash with Crystal Palace. Though Everton managed to hold off Crystal Palace throughout the first half, it was the Chelsea loanee Gallagher who found the opener just before the Halftime mark. Later in the 2nd half, Tomkins added another burden on Everton as Palace led 2-0, but just minutes later, Rondon found one back for the Toffees. However, Everton's fighting spirit was torn into pieces as Gallagher slammed his 2nd goal of the day and also ensured the match for Crystal Palace. Currently, sitting at 14th Rafa Benitez and Everton both are in serious jeopardy unless they find a way to get out of this trap.
