This season East Bengal has come back with a completely different squad, with new players joining the team and with new management. The Red and Gold Brigade looks to make an immediate impact and get Head-to-head with their arch-rival Mohun Bagan in the coming days. With their new head coach Jose Manuel Diaz and with the inclusion of Adil Khan, Franjo Prce, Daniel Chima, and Antonio Perosevic, East Bengal is looking to form a winning streak.

The team from Jharkhand on the other hand had quite a balanced season last year. With 7 wins out of 20 matches, they found themselves sitting at 6th on the table. However, has added the likes of the club and made some major changes at their club as they appointed Owen Coyle, who led the struggling Chennaiyin FC into the ISL final in the last season. Jamshedpur FC made a total of twelve signings ahead of the season. They had an overall change in their squad as they released most of the Indian players from the squad.
Among the foreign players, only Aitor Monroy and David Grande were retained. The club signed Nerijus Valskis, Peter Hartley, Stephen Eze. Alex Monteiro and Nick Fitzgerald were the other signings ahead of the season. Jackichand Singh was one of the major Indian signings along with the players like T.P Rehenesh, Laldinliana Renthlei, and Ricky Lallawmawma. They will be looking to get the upper hand on the upcoming match and get their season off to a good start.
