Manchester United will visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to face Spurs on 19th August, Saturday. Erik Ten Hag's side will be looking to make it two wins from two in the Premier League this season. They haven't done that in a league season since 2017-18 under José Mourinho. Ange Postecoglou's side began their new campaign with a 2-2 draw away to London rivals Brentford while the Red Devils registered a controversial 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Here is the Match Preview, Team News, and every detail of Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United in the Premier League 2023-24.

Manchester United was lucky as they picked up all three points in the opening match. Despite winning 1-0 after Raphaël Varane's header, Wolves attempted 23 shots, the most Manchester United have faced in a Premier League match at Old Trafford in under 18 years. André Onana made six saves on his competitive debut for the club but was lucky not to concede a penalty in injury time following a collision with Wolves' Sasa Kalajdzic. Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou's era at Tottenham Hotspur might not have started with a victory, but their 2-2 draw at Brentford last weekend was encouraging and motivating.

The last meeting between Tottenham and Manchester United came in April, as the two sides drew 2-2 in the Premier League in north London. Goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford put United 2-0 up at half-time before Pedro Porro and Son Heung-Min both scored after the break to rescue a point for the home side.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United | Team News

Tottenham Hotspur:

After scoring against Brentford, Argentine center-back Romero was taken off with a head injury. Romero would not be available for Saturday's fixture. He joined Bryan Gil (groin), Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring), Fraser Forster (back), and Alfie Whiteman (ankle) on the sidelines. Romero's injury opened the door for Eric Dier to make his return to the matchday squad, and either the Englishman or Davinson Sanchez should partner with new arrival Micky van de Ven in that scenario.

One player that failed to find the net in a Premier League game for Spurs, again, was Richarlison. The pressure is on the Brazilian to perform in front of goal following Harry Kane's move to Bayern Munich, and after Sunday's match at Brentford, he's now played 1,096 minutes of Premier League action at Spurs and contributed just a single goal. James Maddison enjoyed an encouraging competitive debut for Spurs, assisting both goals in the draw at Brentford. He was the first-ever player to assist as many as two goals on his Premier League debut for the club. Spurs would definitely like to achieve something this season but for that, they will need a good start.

Manchester United:

Manchester United lost Lisandro Martinez to a minor ankle injury against Wolves, although his center-back partner Varane partnered with Lindelof pretty well in the second half. Victor Lindelof is on standby in case Martinez is not given the green light. Harry Maguire is likely to stay at Old Trafford for the 2023-24 campaign after a proposed £30m transfer to West Ham United collapsed.

The new huge no 9 signing Rasmus Hojlund is also out with a back injury. He is reportedly expecting to make his place in the team somewhere in September. The tactical marquee signing of Onana almost proved wrong when he collided with Wolves' Sasa Kalajdzic. It was surely a penalty but not given. Although his performance was top notch including Luke Shaw and Wan Bissaka. Mason Mount is also a new signing but he has to be visible on the pitch to carry the ball, and to create something. Bruno is a workaholic player but he cannot do everything by himself. The players have to step up if they want to produce a healthy season.
