As we enter the business end of the season. Many big teams who will miss UEFA Champions League next season. Many would consider this season an abnormal one as considerably smaller teams are performing at high standards, bringing it to the top clubs in terms of gameplay and competition.
Surprize packages in the form of RC Lens in League 1, Aston Villa, Brighton in the Premier League, Union Berlin in the Bundesliga are all exceeding expectations in their respective leagues.
This results in some team teams floundering their form and hence will not finish in the positions of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season.
So here are 5 big teams who will miss UEFA Champions League next season:
Olympique Lyon:
The French giants are currently 7th in the Ligue 1, there form has not improved since sacking Peter Bosz and replacing him with former PSG manager, Laurent Blanc. They do have an impressive victory over PSG but doesn't reflect on their regular form in the League.
The main problem lies in the recruitment department of the team as PSG has sold almost of their stars like Memphis Depay, Tanguy Ndombele to other clubs and have failed to replace them with top players.
With just few games to go, it looks really tough for such an historic club and former UEFA Champions League semi finalists to play top tier European football next season.

Sevilla:
The UEFA Europa League specialist, who finish top-4 in almost every year in La Liga looks to be in disarray this season. Already sacking their long term manager Julien Lopetegui, for Jorge Sampaoli for the second time was a big time downgrade for many fans.
Now even he has been sacked for the former Elche manager, Jose Luis Mendilibar. This shows that the Sevilla backroom is not stable in their approach to football and that is showing in the team's performance almost every match.
With the oldest average age team in the league, Sevilla still has players like Ivan Rikitic, Jesus Navas playing for them day in and day out. With only 3 players below the age of 23 in the entire team. Famous sporting director Monchi, who is known for his talent ID, is losing is touch with young players and Sevilla has become incapable of replacing the players they sell with massive profit like Jules kounde.
Juventus:
The Bianconeri have been hit with 15 point deduction in the league that has resulted them sitting in the 7th place in Serie A. Without the 15 points deduction they would have in 3rd position with 59 points behind Lazio and the most in-form team in Europe, Napoli.
The ban is given after Juventus were found guilty of inflating their financial records, financial irregularities and false accounting during their player transfer dealings. The Italian football federation ran an independent enquiry on Juventus and the final verdict found the Bianconeri's guilty.
Juventus have an outside chance of playing in the UEFA Champions League next year, if they manage to win the Europa League this season, they will play Sporting CP in the quarter finals. With Manchester United or Sevilla awaiting them in the Semi finals.
Liverpool:
Jurgen Klopp's high flying Reds have stumbled this season with an awful league form. Currently sitting at 8th with just 44 points, it looks like an uphill task of finishing in the top 4 this season.
The squad is getting old, with an non functioning midfield due to which the famous tight defense of Liverpool is getting exposed, with stars like Van Dijk and Trent Alexander Arnold having their worst possible season. The squad needs injection of young players with FSG promising huge financial back up in the upcoming transfer window but the current future of Klopp's Liverpool looks grim as this season, they have no trophies to play for while qualifying for Europe's elite competition also looks really slim. Liverpool will be another big team who will miss UEFA Champions League next season from England.
The only reason Liverpool fans will remember this season, the 7-0 victory over Manchester United at Anfield. Kind of a trophy nonetheless.
Chelsea:
Chelsea can be defined with only one word this season, "controversy". After the American Todd Boehly consortium takeover last summer, Chelsea have become a Hollywood thriller in every way. After the shock sacking of UEFA Champions League winning manager, Thomas Tuchel early on, Graham Potter signed a 5 year contract with promises of a long term project.
With no improvement after spending more than 600 million and buying 12 players, Chelsea sit in 11th place in the Premier League. Potter was shown the door after the fans turned on him and the board ended up losing faith in him. Chelsea is failing to score goals with Erling Haaland scoring more league goals than the entire Chelsea team in the Premier League.
Now club legend, Frank Lampard has return at the dugout as the interim boss and still there is no improvement to be seen. Chelsea are in the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League, but face an uphill task of facing the serial winners and current holders, Real Madrid. If this form continues, Chelsea will finish in the worse in the bottom half of the table, which will be their worst ever finish, resulting in the being the biggest team among the big teams who will miss UEFA Champions League next season.
