The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has decided to allow the participation of the Jharkhand state team; in the senior women's National Football Championships and the Santosh Trophy.

The AIFF on Tuesday rejected Jharkhand Football Association from sending a team to participate in the Santosh Trophy and Women's championship; regarding an internal conflict within the management of the association.

What was the reason?

The conflict broke out due to the entries of 4 separate teams of 2 men's and 2 women's teams; from Jharkhand for the Santosh Trophy and Women's National Championship respectively. According to the sources one men's and one women's team was in consideration by the JFA's Chairman and Honorary Secretary; while the other two men's and women's teams have been selected by the duo of President and Joint Secretary. The AIFF told the JFA to solve this internal issue and AIFF will not allow the state to participate for the time being.

AIFF published a statement saying:

"Following the visit of the AIFF Technical Supervisor, and keeping the interest of the players in mind; the All India Football Federation has decided to allow the participation of the Jharkhand State Team in the Senior Women's National Football Championships; and the Santosh Trophy," the AIFF said in a statement.

"The AIFF thanks the Government of Jharkhand for their highly proactive support; and is grateful for their cooperation in a joint endeavor for the development of women's football, and drive Indian Football forward together," AIFF added.
