Based on factors including ticket prices and the cost of food and drink, Arsenal easily top the pile of Europe's priciest club.

Betting.com has put together a comprehensive league table of which fans will be shelling out the most to get through the turnstiles during the 2022/23 Premier League season, which is less than a month away from kicking-off.

The table has been put together after taking into account season ticket costs (the lowest available adult price), average train travel to away games, and the cost of away tickets, which are capped at £30 each.

Gooners (Arsenal fans) planning a trip to the Emirate Stadium can expect to splash out a whopping £62 on average for a match day ticket – that's 1.5 times more than the average amount (£43) and 2.1 times more than the Aston Villa (£30) – who have the least expensive match day ticket. Yet, it's West Ham fans who are forking out the most money to watch a match – with the average ticket costing £65.

Newcastle United fans will be splashing out more than any other supporters to catch the Magpies home and away, according to OBLG.

They might have new controversial yet well-off Saudi Arabian backers - who have even introduced an away strip in the oil-rich country's flag colours - but the expensive travel to and from the North East means fans of The Toon will be forking out heavily on train tickets.

The OBLG said: "Hardcore Newcastle fans will be wishing they had a fraction of the wealth their Saudi-backed owners have at their disposal, as our research shows they will have to pay the most compared to any other club to follow their side during the upcoming season."

The North Londoners are followed by Chelsea in the standings - with a day at Stamford Bridge setting a fan back an average of £68.71.

Spanish giants Real Madrid come in third, costing £55.91 per match - still nearly £20 cheaper than a day out at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, Liverpool (£55.68) come in fourth, following by German powerhouses Bayern Munich (£54.92).

Manchester United are the fourth-most expensive in the Premier League and sixth overall, costing an average of £53.41 per game.

Thanks to charging an almost obscene amount to watch a game, Arsenal also topped Uefa's list of top-earners based on ticket sale alone, at £102m for 2016-17 alone.

That is in spite of having a much inferior capacity compared to the likes of Old Trafford and Barcelona's Nou Camp.

In terms of the overall top earners in Europe, taking absolutely everything into consideration, Man United come out on top.

he least expensive Premier League team to be a fan of is Leeds United, the total cost to attend a match day is an affordable £82.40, more than £20 cheaper than the average £109.20.

Fans will also find that some of the food and drink at Elland Road is cheaper than the average, with a pint of beer costing just £3.60 and a pie costing £3.10. In comparison, the average cost of a pint at a Premier League stadium is £4.08.

On average (with the cost of drinks, food, a match programme, team kit and a match day ticket), a Premier League fan can expect to spend around £109 for a day out at the footy.
