In Arsenal transfer News we take a look at how Arsenal's second bid got rejected by West Ham, why Arsenal's still optimistic after getting their first Havertz bid rejected by Chelsea and how Arsenal is close in on Romeo Lavia.
Arsenal's pursuit of Rice
West Ham have rejected Arsenal's second bid of £75m plus £15m in add-ons on Tuesday as per multiple reports in Arsenal Transfer News . The initial offer was worth £80m, as you can tell, was also rejected last week.
This summer Rice has been Arteta's priority signing from the very beginning of the transfer window. Arsenal have laid down months of ground work to secure this deal. West Ham is expecting an improved bid from Arsenal, anything less than £100m is gonna be rejected by the Hammers.
Manchester City is also keeping an eye on the deal as they're also interested in the English midfielder but they've not made any contact with Rice's agents as he not priority at the moment.
Havertz deal on hold but not off
Since the start of the transfer window last week, Arsenal have made two bids, one to Chelsea and one to West Ham and both of those bids got rejected. But Arsenal are still keeping a positive attitude to get the deal over the line because both the players have agreed personal terms.
Arsenal's initial Havertz offer was worth £50m but Chelsea rejected it because they want something around £70m, almost the price at which they bought the player from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Blues are in a race to sell players by June 30 to add the takings to their accounts for 2022-23, which are being monitored by UEFA over potential FFP breaches.

The Gunners are making progress with Romeo Lavia in Arsenal Transfer News, talks are going smoothly. Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims that the Gunners are close to agreeing personal terms with the midfielder and will "soon"make an official offer to Southampton. Despite their relegation from the top flight league of England they are set to demand a big fee.
With Chelsea not qualifying in any kind of European football the Belgian is most likely to choose Arsenal over Chelsea.
