The start of the Brazil vs Argentina FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match at the iconic Maracana stadium was delayed due to a fight between fans on Wednesday. The match had be delayed by 30 minutes due to the incident.
Both teams were lining up for national anthems when fans of the both countries got engaged in a fight at the stadium.
The players were told to leave the field due to security reasons as the authorities did not feel safe to start the Brazil vs Argentina match.
It is reported that the brawl started when Brazil fans started booing Argentine National anthem. The local police tried to intervene but the brawl started getting bigger. The World Champions had to leave the field after that.
It was nearly after 25 minutes that the teams got back to the ground and the match started at 6.30 am IST, thirty minutes later than the official scheduled time.
Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was seen getting into the brawl as well as he tried to reach some fans in the crowd.

Argentina are currently topping the points table of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers with 13 points and one loss in the qualifiers till now.
