With Real Madrid clinching the Spanish league on Saturday, Carlo Ancelotti became the first coach to lift trophies in the top five European leagues.

Not long after being thrown into the air by his Real Madrid players, Carlo Ancelotti shed tears while speaking about his latest league triumph.
"I'm very proud of this," he said. "I've had a very long season, but I'm still enjoying it."
Ancelotti won with AC Milan in Italy, Chelsea in England, Paris Saint-Germain in France, and Bayern Munich in Germany.
"Now I'm with Real Madrid, and to win with Real Madrid is very special," he said. "This is the first time for me to win a title at the (Santiago) Bernabéu, and the atmosphere here is special."
The 62-year-old Ancelotti first coached Madrid from 2013-15 but didn't win La Liga. But in that first tenure, Madrid won the Champions League, the Club World Cup, UEFA's Super Cup and the Copa del Rey.
Ancelotti won the Serie A in 2004, the English Premier League in 2010, the French league in 2013 and the Bundesliga in 2017.
He coached Napoli and Everton after Bayern, without reaching any significant success. He returned to Madrid in the beginning of last season.
"I have to thank Real Madrid's president (Florentino Perez) to give me this opportunity to return," Ancelotti said.
"I wasn't expecting it at the time." Madrid won its record-extending 35th Liga title with a 4-0 win over Espanyol, gaining an insurmountable lead with four rounds to go.
Ancelotti's only reason to complain on Saturday was Madrid's players stopped throwing him up in celebration too soon.
"I told Marcelo that I wanted to keep going," he said. "I was enjoying being up there in the air."

If or when Liverpool win the Premier League 2024-25 title, Arne Slot will become only the fifth manager in Premier League history to achieve the feat.
Here are the managers to win the Premier League title in their debut season in the league. Please note we have not included Claudio Ranieri's name for winning the title with Leicester City in 2015-16, because he had already managed Chelsea from 2000 to 2004.

That is why he is the special one. Jose Mourinho came the Chelsea after winning the Champions League with Porto and created history right after that. In the 2004-05 season, Mourinho arrived at Chelsea with a champion mindset and started the season with a bang by beating Manchester United in his first game at the helm.
With John Terry as the leader of the pack, young Peter Chech between the goals and players like Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, Mourinho took Chelsea to Premier League success with the then-record highest point of a season (95).
However, that team still holds the Premier League record for conceding the least goals in a season (15) and most clean sheets in a season (25).

One of the greatest football managers of the generation, Carlo Ancelotti arrived in the Premier League and was able to replicate what Mourinho had done in his debut season.
While Mourinho had made them solid in defence, the team started to fall apart during his latter years. After a few failures by the next managers, Ancelotti took the responsibility to bring the silverware back to Stamford Bridge.
Ancelotti unleashed a ruthless attacking mindset within the team which resulted in Chelsea creating the records for most goals scored in a Premier League season (103), most goals scored at home in a season (68), and winning the league with the best goal difference in a season (71).
Didier Drogba scored 29 goals in the Premier League for them. Frank Lampard also showed his class with 22 league goals that season.
Pellegrini helped City win their second-ever Premier League title. Image | BCC
Pellegrini led Manchester City to their second-ever Premier League in his debut season as the head coach at Etihad Stadium. After the success of Roberto Mancini just two seasons ago, where we saw Sergio Aguero creating history for them, Pellegrini took City back to the top.
Yaya Toure with 20 goals led them in front as they scored more than 100 goals in a season for the first time in their history. Eden Dzeko with 16 goals and Sergio Aguero with 17 also were the stars for the Blues.
They won the league two points clear of runners-up Liverpool, who had earned 84 points.
Antonio Conte | 2016-17
Conte won 13 consecutive league games to win the league. Image | Chelsea FC
Roman Ibrahimbovic somehow was always right with appointing coaches at the right time. Antonio Conte joined Chelsea during the mid-season after Guus Hiddink handled the team as interim coach.
Conte formed a fluid 3-4-2-1 system and with the team already out of the European title race, he had only one thing to focus on. In a season which he called "a Mourinho season”, Chelesea created history by winning 13 straight league games in a row, an equal record for any English top-flight team to enter this special list of football facts.
Conte went on to win the Premier League Manager of the Month Award for October, November and December months. No manager had won the award in three consecutive months before him.
Chelsea with 93 points won the Premier League as Conte became the third Chelsea coach to win the league in his debut season.
Premier League History: Most Goals Scored in a Single Stadium
Discover the Premier League record for the most goals scored in a single stadium. Find out which ground has witnessed the highest number of goals in Premier League history!
There are many records of top scorers in the Premier League but there are some unique and amazing records in the Premier League history, regarding the most goals scored at a single stadium.
This can be analyzed repeatedly — for the most goals in a single game at a single site, for the most scored at a given site in a single season, and for the most scored by an individual player at one end.
Most goals scored at a single stadium in Premier League history:
◎ 116 - Thierry Henry (Highbury) ◎ 106 - Sergio Agüero (The Etihad) ◉ 101 - Mohamed Salah (Anfield) ◎ 101 - Wayne Rooney (Old Trafford)
Highest-Scoring Premier League Match at a Single Stadium
The record for the highest-scoringPremier League match at one stadium was set on September 29, 2007, at Fratton Park. where Portsmouth triumphed over Reading 7-4, producing an astonishing 11-goalthriller.
Stamford Bridge is the highest-awarded on-goals stadium in a single Premier League season, awarding 82 goals to Chelsea in 2009-10. Chelsea, managed by Carlo Ancelotti back then, scored 68 of these goals, with the rest 14 being scored against them.
That postseason, Chelsea’s prolific attack propelled them to the Premier League title, when they scored a mammoth 104 altogether.
Stamford Bridge witnessed somehigh-scoring victories for Chelsea that season, including an 8-0 victory against Wigan Athletic on the last day to secure the championship. Didier Drogba played a key role, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 29 goals.
Thierry Henry holds the record for the most Premier League goals scored by one player at the same stadium. The French forward netted 107 goals at Arsenal’s old building, Highbury.
Henry was among the greatest forwards in Premier League history when it came to his finishing, his dribbling, and his composure. His influence helped Arsenal dominate, especially during their unbeaten 2003-04 “Invincibles” season. He made Highbury his own, and with it, his reputation for goal-scoring.
Other Notable Stadium Goal Records:
It is at several other stadiums, however, where remarkable goal-scoring feats have been recorded:
Old Trafford: Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney became the club’s all-time leading goal-scorer, with the majority of them arriving on his home turf.
Anfield: Mohamed Salah has been repeatedly delivering what Liverpoolneeded, netting with some frequency in front of the Liverpool fans.
These records underline the teams and individuals attacking genius and the passion for home support. From the iconic stadium to the historical Highbury, Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge, and Etihad unforgettable moments have played out on their turf.
With the unpredictability of the Premier League, those records are surely going to be challenged. High-scoring matches, dominant home teams, prolific goal scorers: there is always something exciting in England’s top flight.

Zero wins against big teams: What has happened to Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid | Analysis
Real Madrid struggled against big teams like Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Liverpool, Athletic and Barcelona this season. What has happened to Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid? Where are they lacking? Here is the detailed analysis
Real Madrid are currently doing well against lower and medium-reputed teams with score lines like 3-0 against Mallorca, 5-0 against CD Minera, 2-1 against Valencia, 4-2 against Sevilla and 3-0 against Pachuca.
But this season, against highly reputed names like Athletica Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, and Liverpool, Real Madrid struggled hugely. What's gone wrong with Carlo Ancelotti's team?
Let's analyze that.
Carlo Ancelotti with Real Madrid so far
Carlo Ancelotti has won three UCL trophies with Real Madrid. Image | Real Madrid
In two spells in charge at Madrid, between 2013 and 2015, and from 2021, Ancelotti has lifted threeChampions League trophies, two LaLiga titles, two Copa del Reys, two Spanish Super Copas, three UEFA Super Cups, two Club World Cups, and now the Intercontinental Cup.
But this season, Ancelotti's team looks in a different shape. Even though Real Madrid are challenging for the La Liga title, and currently at the second spot, they are struggling against the highly reputed teams.
The expectation for top teams in Europe, like Madrid, is at least to win the home league and cup and reach the semis of the Champions League.
But Real Madrid have currently lost the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona, and they could be relegated from the Champions League as well.
Tactical Analysis of Carlo Ancelotti's past and present formations

During the 2023/2024 season, Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid showcased a remarkable blend of formations and adaptability. Primarily set up in a versatile 4-3-3 formation, Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid fluidly shifts into various structures like 4-5-1 or 3-5-2 or a 4-3-2-1, adapting as the game calls for.

But this season, Carlo Ancelotti’s refusal to change his approach in these moments has left the team vulnerable in key fixtures. Whether it’s his preference for a 4-3-3 or his insistence on specific player roles, the lack of tactical flexibility has been a recurring issue. And the major teams are taking advantage of this vulnerability with the team.
Squad Issues
Real Madrid has had a number of injuries to key players in the 2024–2025 season. Players like Luka Modric are also getting aged. The team is over-reliant more on star players like Vinicius Jr., Bellingham, andMbappe.
The bench looks moderate, enabling poor squad depth that impacted big games, which means a poor summer transfer business and strong reinforcement required in this ongoing transfer window.
The team mentally looks fragile and hunger less, and Mbappe struggles under pressure, enabling a shift in leadership and approach under Carlo Ancelotti, which is a contrast if we compare this team with the previous campaign.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Perspective
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said that only Kylian Mbappe turned up for the Spanish Super Cup final while the rest of the team disappointed in their 5-2 defeat against Barcelona.
“You have to defend well to win these games. Barcelona deserved to win; they defended better than us. The team is not looking good, but I’m not going to point the finger at anyone."
"Mbappe had a good game, he was probably the only one who played well. I’m not going to name names on this, but we were not good from the first minute, and did not perform,” Ancelotti said.
💥 ANCELOTTI, MUY AUTOCRÍTICO:
"Esta es la realidad, no hemos defendido bien y por eso han marcado de manera sencilla".

The defending La Liga champions will be in action next when they take on Osasuna at the Bernabeu on Saturday, October 9 as they look to chase down leadersBarcelona heading into the November international break.
Can Real Madrid bounce back from this terrible situation? What Ancelotti plans next?? Questions are many that needs to be resolved as soon as possible.
