It was an entertaining matchweek where Ajax, Liverpool and PSG put up a dominant display. FC Sheriff created a major upset when they defeated Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. Club Brugge managed to bag a win against dangerous RB Leipzig away. The Belgian side put up a show against the German giants and pulled off an upset. Lionel Messi put up a show by scoring a cracker of a debut goal against Manchester City. On the other hand, Liverpool thrashed FC Porto away 1-5. A very late penalty saw Atletico Madrid just cross the line against AC Milan while Dortmund continued their winning ways.

The second matchday was as good as the first. Juventus pulled off a narrow victory. Cristiano Ronaldo once again stole the spotlight with this 94th-minute winner against Villareal. The Europa League final revenge is now complete for the red devils. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich continued their domination and defeated Dynamo 5-0 in Allianz Arena. Benfica produced a major upset and defeated Barcelona 3-0.
