In Chelsea News, the Chelsea youth product was already under contract until 2025, a deal he signed in January 2020.

Reece James made his first-team debut for the Blues in September 2019 and has made 128 appearances, helping them win the Champions League in 2021.

"I am over the moon with my new contract, I cannot wait to see what the future holds," said the 22-year-old.

"I am sure we will have the chance of winning many trophies.

"I grew up supporting this club and I've been here since I was a six-year-old. This is the club I want to be at."

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly said: "We are thrilled to give Reece a new long-term contract at Chelsea. He is an outstanding player and a true Chelsea man."

Reece James has etched his name into the record books at Chelsea by signing a new and improved long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

The England international has become the highest-paid defender in the club's history by signing a six-year deal that will keep him in west London until at least the summer of 2028.

As one of the best wing-backs in the world, but also one of the more underpaid, he had attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City but we can safely put those rumors to rest now.

He enjoyed arguably his best season last term as he scored on six occasions and notched ten assists, only to see injury curtail the closing months of the campaign. However, he has picked up exactly where he left off with a number of impressive performances this season.

Reece James ' displays for Chelsea have also been good enough for international recognition having racked up 13 appearances for the England side under Gareth Southgate.
