East Bengal are now hanging at the 10th spot with only 12 points in 13 matches and may slump to the bottom two on the points table by the end of this week if Chennai manages to beat Kerala at home.

Chhangte wins a corner after winning a duel against Mandar Rao Dessai.

Chikkara plays a pass into the box for Chhangte and the latter takes a shot that goes off-target.

Yellow card for Mahesh Singh for a foul on Jayesh Rane.

Mahesh will miss the next game over card accumulation and Jayesh Rane is getting taken off after the knock.

East Bengal haven't created anything in the second half and clearly Carles Cuadrat is not happy with his side's performance.

The referee blows the halftime whistle and it ends 1-0 in favour of Mumbai City FC. Debutant Iker Guarrotxena scored for the Islanders in the 24th minute to help them go ahead in the clash. Mumbai pretty much dominated the first half while East Bengal tried to hit them on counters but failed miserably. The Red & Gold Brigade must start the second half positively or they will be handed their second straight loss in the league.

"We have had a good week of preparation and the boys are looking very sharp, so we hope things will play out well in terms of application on Tuesday. If we do the things well, it will help us, and we are looking forward to the game," Petr Kratky said.

"They are a very good side and that is why they won the Super Cup. Even though they lost against NorthEast United, it means nothing, because they will be keen to bounce back, and we have to be ready from the first minute. We have to work hard, because they are a good team with quality players, but also, we want to bounce back, and I believe it will be a good game to watch, and we are 100% ready for the contest," the coach added.

"We will do rotations in the squad. We are going to use some players that have been helping the team but not participating with those many minutes," Cuadrat said.

"It is sad to lose Cleiton, so we must be intelligent at this moment of the season. The calendar isn't protecting my players, so I will be the one protecting them. The health of the players is important to be competitive, and we will have a lot of finals in front of us," the East Bengal coach added.
