Wayne Rooney is England's all-time top goalscorer with 53 goals. Not only this, but he is also the country's most capped outfield player of all time with 119 appearances. Globally considered as one of the best English footballers, he made his debut in the England national football team in 2003 and continued playing till 2018. Also, he made his debut in the senior International team as the youngest ever goalscorer at the age of 17. In the UEFA Euro 2004, the world got to know him because of his excellent performance to score four goals. Also, he became the youngest goalscorer in the history of the European Championship. During his International career of 14 years, he played in 3 World Cups; 2006 World Cup, 2010 World Cup, and 2014 world cup.

Globally considered as one of the greatest players in history, he was capped 106 times for England and he made 758 appearances for Manchester United. He was one of the key members behind the the victory of 1966 World Cup as he scored goals twice in the semifinals. Also, he is often regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time. Before Wayne Rooney broke Charlton's record of top goal scorers in England, Bobby remained at the top of the list for 45 years with 49 goals.

With 48 goals, Gary Lineker holds the third position on this list of England's all-time top goalscorers. The former English footballer is considered one of the greatest strikers in the country. He has always been the knight in shining armor for the team especially in World Cup. At the 1986 World Cup, he scored 6 goals and followed it with 4 goals in the 1990 World Cup. He also won the Golden Boot for his exhilarating performance in the 1986 World Cup.

The captain of the England football team is England's fifth highest goal scorer with 40 goals. Presently known as one of the best strikers in the world, he is notable and renowned for his extreme goal-scoring records and the ability to link play as well. Also, he has tremendous records to his name for Tottenham Hotspur. In the 2016-17 Premier League, he won the golden board after scoring 29 goals in 30 games for a rate of 0.97.

The former English footballer played for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Stoke City, and Manchester United. One of the most important and remarkable moment of his career was the 1998 World Cup held in France. He became the youngest player and the youngest goalscorer from England at that time and became a prominent member of the international team. Also, he is the only player from England who scored in four major tournaments. In total, he was capped 89 times as well.

Kane reached the 50-goal tally in Bundesliga after his scintillating hat-trick in Bayern's 3-0 victory over Augsburg in the Bundesliga last night. 

The Bayern forward is in formidable form this season, having already scored 20 goals in 17 games across all competitions for Bayern Munich.

The English goal-machine 

Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich in 2023 following his departure from Tottenham. In his first season, Kane scored 36 goals in 32 Bundesliga matches for the German side and registered 8 goals in the UEFA Champions League last season.

Harry Kane finished as the top scorer in both cases and earned the European Golden Shoe Award for his brilliance. 

However, Kane is eyeing another Golden Boot win, as he has already registered 20 goals so far this season in 17 games, whereas he has now scored 14 goals in 11 Bundesliga games while also providing 7 assists. 

However, Harry Kane has broken Erling Haaland's record of scoring 50 goals in 50 Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund, before he opted to move to Manchester City in 2022. 

Kane has also scored 5 penalties among the 14 he scored. He spoke to DAZN after the Augsburg game regarding the penalties: 

"I work on them a lot, they're a big part of the game. They helped us again today.

"Of course I've missed many at training, but that's the time to miss them."

Kane's dream scoring spree continues as he has already scored three hat-tricks in Bundesliga including the Augsburg match last night, and it will be very interesting to see where Kane's goalscoring tally reaches this season!
