In Exclusive ISL Transfer News, ATK Mohun Bagan on Tuesday announced that Irish star, Carl McHugh has extended his stay with the club, signing a new two-year contract with the Mariners - which will keep him at the club till 2024.
McHugh joined the Hero ISL in 2019 when he joined ATK Mohun Bagan and helped them win the Hero ISL title and has been a consistent performer for the Mariners over the past two seasons, making 39 appearances during that period. Primarily a central defender, McHugh is also capable of playing as a left-back and defensive midfielder, with the 29-year-old highly experienced as he has played for the likes of Reading, Bradford City and Motherwell in the past.
The versatile defender has also represented the Republic of Ireland at various youth levels, though he still has not been called up to the senior national squad and he will look to ensure that he is in the running for a senior cap in the near future.
