Spain and Germany will go against each other in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup semi-finals and it is going to be one of the best matches of the tournament as both the European giants will look to stamp their authority in football. Spain, who lost the U-17 Women's Euro 2022 final to Germany, will look to take revenge for their previous loss. Meanwhile, Germany, the Euro Champions, would love to defeat the defending champions to emerge as the best footballing nation in U-17 Women's football.

Spain coach Kenio Gonzalo believes that it is a great opportunity for his team to take revenge on Spain. He believes he has got some elite players in the Spain squad who can take the game away any time; just like Vicky Lopez did against Japan.

"We have some elite players in our squad. (We have) players that are supposed to be doing this for a very long time and are going to face each other on many occasions. They met in the last Euro and that will repeat till they reach the senior level."

"I always say football is a permanent revenge and now we have a great opportunity to play this game against Germany. Last time, that was an intense match. It is a very tough match. We are willing to win this match," said Kenio Gonzalo.

Julia Simic, the German assistant coach who will be in place of Friederike Kramp in the match echoed the same thoughts of her counterpart. After watching the last game of Spain vs Japan, Julia felt Japan were one of the contenders of the tournament and beating them was a job well done by the Spanish team. Julia is aware of the skills and speed that Spain possesses, but feels they have the team to restrict them in the semis.

Both Spain and Germany coaches have said that both the teams were preparing for this tournament for more than a year. They have faced many challenges and thus have reached the semis finals of a mega tournament like this. Germany will have the services of many upcoming Bundesliga stars. On the other hand, Spain also got some FC Barcelona and Real Madrid players.

8 of the German players have scored till now in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. Spain mid-fielder Sandra Villafane feels it will be tough to tackle a diverse attack like Germany. But, she feels counting the opponent's best skill is what they are looking for.

"We have seen how they play. They have very skilful players and so do we. I think it is going to be a beautiful match. At the end of the day, the team that manages to counter the opponent's skills better will win. Above all, we have a great team. So, I think we will be victorious and we will try our best," Sandra Villafane stated.

Jella Veit, the German midfielder also accompanied the German assistant coach and seemed confident about her game. She feels they have enough resources in the squad to make it to the finals of the tournament. Both Jella and Sadra started playing football at around 5 years of age. Jella had to wait till she was 16 to be able to play alongside the men. On the flip side, Sandra has been in the Real Madrid camp since she was 11 or 12.

The German assistant coach, Julia feels just like the U-17 Women's Euro Finals, this will be one of the most intense matches of her career. There will be no moment to switch off from the game. But, they are focused and prepared to face the challenges.
