Match Preview

Germany have been a strong force since the start of the World Cups. They're one of the seven teams to have played in each of the last editions of the World Cup. With advancing into the Knockout out stages in each of their World Cup quests, we can expect them to do the same with being drawn in a group same as Morocco, South Korea and Columbia.

After finishing the 2022 Women's Euro as runners-up, Germany are hungrier than ever to win the World Cup this time around. They've won the trophy two times, in 2003 and 2007 respectively and have been in the quarterfinals on two occasions and the semifinals once. They would be looking to change that status and crowned World Champions for the third time, stopping USA from winning their third consecutive World Cup title.

Morocco on the other hand are one of the eight teams to play in the World Cup finals  for the first time in their history. They achieved World Cup qualification by being runners-up at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations. They left a lasting impression on everyone after beating Nigeria in the semi final of the tournament in a penalty shootout.

Germany, being the seasoned veterans of the tournament, would be a big task for Morocco to beat them but they do have players in their ranks to trouble then, for sure. They've played some beautiful football in their previous major tournament with controlling most of the game and ball possession. They might not be able to do the same thing against Germany, but they sure can  show glimpses of their potential on the world stage.

Recent Form

Both of the team's recent form haven't been great leading to this tournament. Germany have not been able to deliver in the warm up games as convincingly as we would've hoped for and Morocco have not managed to win the last five games they had played. It's still expected to be a pretty one sided content but if Morocco defeat Germany in their first ever encounter, it would be a massive upset.
