Both the teams will be looking to start their World Cup proceedings with a win and it promises to be an exciting contest. The contest is gonna be played at the Eden Park ground in New Zealand so the Kiwis are gonna get the backing of the crowd whereas Norway would like to redeem themselves of the bad performance in the Euros.
It's gonna be a fairly even contest but Norway does hold a slight edge over New Zealand, considering New Zealand have only been able to win just one of their last 11 games. But New Zealand are positive and would look to start off the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 with a bang.
New Zealand is mainly known for their Cricket and Rugby teams but in this World Cup they want to be one of the dominating forces in this sport too, or atleast mark the beginning of something remarkable.
Norway, on the other hand is pretty serious about their chances of having a good World Cup campaign and they've got the proper players to back it up with. Their captain, Ada Hegerberg is one of the best players in the World and it would be interesting to see how she performs in this World Cup. The former Ballon d'Or awardee is prepared for any upcoming challenges and so is her team.
Norway would be looking to start fresh and forget about the 2022 Women's Euro. It's not so much as the group stage exit that hurts them so much but the 8-0 thumping they got from England. That was really an unexpected result. Their recent form is quite decent so they will be expected to play good football.
