Match preview

Switzerland won their opening fixture against Philippines quite comfortably and they met Norway, which was somewhat of a difficult fisture. The Swiss goalkeeper Gaelle Thallmann saved her nation from the hands of defeat as she made crucial saves in the match and the result between Switzerland and Norway ended in a draw.

Switzerland does have a healthy habit of keeping a clean sheet they also have a decent knack of drawing games. They've won just two of their last eight games. And they would like to improve that, starting with this game.

Switzerland have never won two World Cup games in their history so they would create history if they manage to beat New Zealand in front of their home crowd and advance into the knockout stages. Everyone expected Norway and New Zealand to get out of the group but Switzerland'performance up until now was really commandable.

Statement of Inka Grings, Switzerland coach

"It's a huge stadium and it will be sold out, so it will be a tremendous atmosphere for us – and against us. For me, these were always the biggest matches. We've got off to a perfect start; we haven't conceded any goals yet and are top of the table right now. We came to the tournament wanting to play well and we're doing that. We want to play the way we did against Norway – if we can do that, it'll be tough to beat us. The excitement is palpable – that's the beauty of these matches. We're looking forward to Sunday."

As for New Zealand, after failing to win their second game against Norway they're
At the risk of getting eliminated from the tournament at their own home. No one expected them to get beaten to the Philippines but they unfortunately did, that too after defeating former World Cup champions, Norway lead by Ada Hegerberg.

Sarina Bolden scored the only goal of the match in the first half at the New Zealand vs Philippines game and it proved to be enough to beat the tournament hits in their home turf. New Zealand were devastated by the defeat when the final whistle blew cause they were not expecting to be beaten by Philippines. But now all they can do is to pick themselves up and try to defeat Switzerland and grab the top shot.

If Switzerland wins this game, the Swiss will be top of the table and is gonna advance into the Round of 16 stage. And if it was the other way around, New Zealand will qualify for the Round of 16 stage. If both the team fails to win, Switzerland is still gonna advance into the Round of 16 stage but New Zealand's chances would depend on the game between Philippines and Switzerland.

Team News

With the Nati defenders Luana Buhler and Viola Calligaris set to be fully fit in time for the final group match, coach Inka Grings will have an entire squad to choose from, while New Zealand also have no fresh injury concerns.
