The FIFA World Cup is the most prestigious international tournament that takes place every four years. Nations around the globe compete for the 18 karat gold trophy and prize money. But more than that, countries compete for the glory and the recognition of their country.
Before the World Cup, Summer Olympics used to be the only main event, but on May 26, 1928, it was decided by FIFA to organize the World Cup. The World Cup was first held in Uruguay in 1930.
