After about a week of speculation, it looks like Bayern Munich have managed to reach agreement with Maccabi Tel Aviv goalie, Daniel Peretz. As Manual Neuer is not fully fit just yet, Peretz is expected to fight his place in the team with Sven Ulreich, Bayern's second choice keeper.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern have agreed to pay €5m fixed fees plus add ons for the Israeli goalkeeper from Maccabi Tel Aviv. The contract will be valid for 5 years, that is until 2028. Peretz still has a game left for Maccabi Tel Aviv which he's going to be playing on Thursday and after that the medical is will be booked in Germany.

Many fans could question the signing of Peretz as no one really heard of him before but this move was a necessity for Bayern as they sold Yann Sommer to Inter Milan while loaning away Alexander Nubel and Johannes Schenk. There were three other players who could have been a third choice goalkeeper but each had their own complications.

Sommer wanted to be the first choice goalkeeper even after Neuer's return, which was an impossible thing to demand when you're at Bayern Munich. Also, Bayern had a gentleman's agreement with Sommer to let him leave if he wanted to according to Football Transfer news.

Nubel's loan move to VfB Stuttgart happened so fast as he couldn't wait to move away from Bayern so it was a more obvious choice to not have him in the club. Schenk could have and should have filled the role but it looked like Bayern was not confident on the player as he has very little first team experience.
