In Football Transfer News we look at Manchester City, who've launched their first Declan Rice bid which is expected to be countered by Arsenal and Arsenal's own quest for Jurrien Timber continues as they've made an improved bid.
Rice To City
In Football Transfer News we are talking about, Manchester City who have made a first bid of £90m for West Ham United captain Declan Rice. The offer breaks down as £80m up front plus £10m in add-ons as per reported by David Ornstein of The Athletic.
The bid is short of West Ham's valuation of what they would like to be paid for Rice and because they've rejected Arsenal's second bid of £75m plus 15 add-ons it suggests the bid will be rejected.
Arsenal are pushing very hard to sign Rice and West Ham are expecting them to come in with a third bid after they've rejected the first two Arsenal bids. Declan Rice was Arsenal's priority signing this summer and he still is. Arteta is said to be very crucial in the deal.
Rice will leave West Ham in the upcoming season after the midfielder captained the club to their first European trophy in 58 years. Rice has played more than 200 games for West Ham and also earned 41 caps for England since his international debut in 2019.
Manchester United have an interest in Rice but there haven't been any official bid from them but they're keeping a close eye on the deal.
Timber To Arsenal
Arsenal have submitted a second bid for Jurrien Timber as they aim to close in on the signing of the Dutch defender from Ajax.
The Gunners saw their first bid of £30m rejected by Ajax last week and have now submitted an improved second bid worth £38m (€45m). They are now reportedly closing in on signing the player according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Premier League club are offering the Dutchman a five-year contract and the player himself is reportedly keen on joining the Gunners as told before in Football Transfer News.
Timber had previously been linked with a move to Manchester United to reunite with ex-Ajax coach Erik ten Hag. Bayern Munich also emerged as a candidate to sign the 22-year-old, but he looks set to end up in north London instead.
