In football transfer news we're talking about one of the most exciting young talents in the world of football, Arda Güler. The Turkish international have been compared to the German sensation, Mesut Özil who is also his idol, for his vision and style of play in the midfield region.
He has been heavily linked with Barcelona and it was also reported that Deco, Barcelona's sporting director went to Istanbul in order to convince Güler to choose Barcelona. But the 18-year-old has not only snubbed Barcelona but went to thier eternal rivals, Real Madrid.

Arda Güler joined Fenerbahçe in 2019, where he quickly rose through the ranks of the youth teams. He signed his first professional contract with the club in January 2021. In the 2022-23 season, Güler impressed a lot and was integral in the team. He dominated the Turkish league with his left foot and attracted the attention of some of Europe's biggest clubs.
However as reported by Fabrizio Romano, it seems like Arda Güler is set to join Real Madrid for approximately £18m, 20% sell-on clause and extra add-ons in the 'package' plus taxes. It's expected to be done by this week as Real Madrid is said to be scheduling his medicals as soon as possible.
Güler has excellent ball control, dribbling skills and passing range. He can create chances for himself and his teammates with his vision and creativity. He is also a composed finisher who can score from different angles.
Güler's main weakness is his physicality. He can be pushed off the ball by opponents on occasion. He also needs to improve his defensive awareness and positioning, as he can sometimes leave gaps behind him when he ventures forward — though, he should have plenty of coverage at Real Madrid if he's playing an attacking role.
As stated by many journalists at Football Transfer News, it would be interesting to see what role Güler will play at Real Madrid next season is yet to be seen, but reports in Spain indicate he will be part of the first team immediately rather than go out on loan. Between him and Brahim Diaz, Real Madrid seems to have filled the Marco Asensio void quite well in the transfer market.
