According to Football Transfer Rumours Harry Redknapp has expressed that his nephew Frank Lampard is keeping an eye on the club's movement and would like to be the new manager of Aston Villa.

Lampard has been off the field since January after he was sacked as the Chelsea manager following a run of two wins in eight Premier League matches which saw the Blues drop to ninth in the table.

Aston Villa, on the other hand, parted ways with Dean Smith following their 1-0 defeat away to Southampton on Friday night. Which left them struggling in 16th place in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, on other football transfer rumours, Norwich sacked Daniel Farke and is now looking for suitable targets. Frank Lampard could make advanced talks with the Canaries'.

But Redknapp, who managed Lampard at West Ham, believes that he would be better suited to the Villa job.

Harry Redknapp said during an interview:

'It's a difficult one, the Villa job is a job that will interest him,' Redknapp told talkSPORT.

"There's going to be plenty of people (interested). Villa's a great club. Norwich is a smashing football club, run by great people. Two good jobs for somebody."

Redknapp was 'disappointed' after hearing the news of Dean Smith getting sacked.

On Hearing the news of Dean Smith's dismissal:

'It's been a funny old time, Dean Smith getting the sack at Villa, I was disappointed to see that one.

'He did a great job there, a Villa man loves the club. A bit like Chris Wilder when he left Sheffield United, a lifelong supporter of the club.'

'It's been difficult, Grealish went, how do you replace Grealish? When I watched them last season, they were pretty much a one-man team, everything went through Grealish. The new signings that have come in haven't hit the ground running.

'I think he needed more time, but the job is up for grabs, there are going to be plenty of people.

'Villa is a smashing club, Norwich is a good club run by good people, so there are going to be two good jobs for somebody.'
