France vs Poland UEFA Euro 2024 Highlights | France finish second in Group D following a 1-1 draw against Poland
France finished second in the UEFA Euro 2024 Group D points table behind Austria following a 1-1 draw against a brave Poland team at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.
France and Poland played a 1-1 draw in their last group-stage game of theUEFA Euro 2024. Kylian Mbappe scored the opener early in the second half but then Robert Lewandowski scored the equalizer to make it all square. The game finished 1-1 and France qualified for the Round of 16 after finishing second in their group behind Austria who beat Netherlands by 3-2 to top the group.
Mbappe broke the deadlock in the 56th minute with his first Euro goal. It was also the first goal by a French player at the Euro 2024. He calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net after Kiwiorโs poor challenge on Ousmane Dembele. But Dayot Upamecano brought down Polish substitute Swiderksi, which allowed Lewandowski to level from the spot in the 79th minute.
At first, Lewandowski's spot kick was saved by Mike Maignan, but it was retaken because Maignan jumped too early. Lewandowski didn't miss in his second attempt and that goal was enough to secure a point against France, their first and only point in the Euro 2024.
Austria and France qualify for the Euro 2024 round of 16. Netherlands too made their way to the knockouts after finishing as one of the best four third-placed teams with four points.

Javier Saviola's transfer to FC Barcelona from River Plate was the record fee for any teenager till it was later broken by Wayne Rooney. After scoring 24 goals in 41 matches, besides his 11 assists for River Plate, while winning the Argentine league in consecutive years, Saviola became the star FC Barcelona were looking for.
However, the transfer did not work that well for both him and the club as he was loaned out many times and went to play for Real Madrid in future as well.Saviola was recently the assistant manager of the Barcelona U19 team as well.
