Hero I-League 2: Ambernath United Atlanta FC complete a comeback win on debut, win 2-1

Arif Shaikh and Abhijijt Tawhare scored a goal each to give Ambernath United Atlanta FC a great win on their Hero I-League 2 debut.

Ambernath United Atlanta FC began their Hero I-League 2 debut campaign with a stunning comeback win against  Hyderabad Reserves.

AUAFC were playing their first match in the Hero I-League 2 at the famous Cooperage stadium in Colaba, Mumbai. Meanwhile Hyderabad Reserves we're looking to bounce back after their 2-1 defeat in their opening match.

Hyderabad Reserves took the lead in the 36th minute through  Aron Vanlalrinchhana. With a 1-0 lead at the break, Hyderabad Reserves looked in a commanding position with the second half to play.

Arif Shaikh scored the equaliser for AUAFC in the 55th minute to make it 1-1. Their first-ever goal in Hero I-League 2. AUAFC coach Steven Dias' substitution proved on point as he brought on Abhijit Tawhare in the 65th minute.

Just 11 minutes later, Abhijit went on to score in the 76th minute giving AUAFC their first lead of the match. This goal would prove to be the winning goal. Ambernath United Atlanta FC had managed to overturn a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1 in their opening match to seal all three points.

Having been undefeated in both their Elite Premier League games for two seasons in a row, this was a rare occasion where Ambernath United Atlanta FC went a goal down.
