Chelsea have completed the signing of RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku, according to Fabrizio Romano.

An agreement is thought to have been in place for the transfer, which will take place in the summer, for several weeks, but now the contract has been signed.

From July, Nkunku will be a Chelsea player, with the deal agreed between the Blues, the France international and the Bundesliga outfit.

Nkunku was one of the most wanted men this past summer, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, AC Milan and PSG all following the French attacker.

The 24-year-old ended up signing a new contract with Leipzig that tied him to the club until 2026.

However, that new contract only delayed the inevitable of Nkunku joining one of Europe's powerhouses.

Kepa Arrizabalaga's quality on the ball has given him the edge over Edouard Mendy in Potter's short tenure.

Wesley Fofana should occupy the right of the three central defenders, with Marc Cucurella on the left, although it appears that this is an area where the Blues may look to upgrade, with Josko Gvardiol an option.

The left wing-back will be Ben Chilwell, if he can stay fit. Having suffered an ACL injury last season, he is again struggling with injury.

On the right, Reece James, who has developed into one of the world's best, will keep his place.

In midfield, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho could be preferred for their technical ability, with N'Golo Kante set to be released at the end of the season.

Up front, new signing Christopher Nkunku may be forced to play in the centre, unless the Blues sign a top-class No.9.

Raheem Sterling and Mason Mount are liable to be preferred as versatile players behind a striker, effectively operating as two No.10s but drifting wide where need be.
